Justin,

Just wanted to say that after hearing about this leverage proposal, I've been researching and looking at other brokers who are offshore and it only reinforced my belief that MB Trading is the best. Great spreads, great execution and good phone support when needed. Man, I really, really, really don't want to go elsewhere. After struggling for a couple years, I am finally profitable, consistent and confident in my strategy. I don't want to start with a new broker NOW. Keep up the good work and I'll keep my fingers crossed.

This is the second time in a week that I've had orders with MBT being triggered on my account without me placing those orders. The first time was earlier this week, when there were a couple of weird GBP/USD orders triggered which I had to close with a loss. And now it happened again, also on GBP/USD, and once again I had to close the orders (which I never placed) with a loss. What's going on? Is there anyone else experiencing such problems? I sent an e-mail to MBT and they told me to contact the help desk, well I did, but my spoken English sucks so I couldn't really explain to them what happened or understand what they were trying to tell me. Right now I'm down a couple hundred bucks, and there's nothing to say that it won't happen again. Needless to say, this is extremely unpleasant.

I don't have an MBT account anymore, but your written English seems fine, so did you try online chat to explain to them the problem? At least that way you'll have a written record of what was said...

aiccia,

Yes, we do have plans to introduce a Mobile platform for our customers, but I'm not sure as to when it will be released. It is currently in development.

Our focus right now is MBT Web 2.0 and the next release candidate of Desktop Pro.

pipsalot,

I agree with TC East, your writing is very clear, so why don't you email [email protected] with the following information:

  1. Account Number & Name
  2. Description of what transpired
  3. Time of the event
  4. Exact currency pairs and order ID (found by adding column in your positions window or Orderbook)...you can also find this information in your trade confirmation reports.

You can CC me on the email at [email protected], but the trade desk will have to research this for you.

egkid,

I suggest you jump on MT4 Live Chat with our reps and work through this with them. It sounds like a memory issue we have seen in the past, but they will be able to better assist you.

You might want to consider jumping on our VPS: MBT VPS

Hello,

Quick question -

Are the commissions retro-active (accumulating) in a way? For example, my 5th trade of the day (standard 100k lot) will be charged commissioned as 500k?

Also, the 2.95$ per 100k , so $6 roundtrip, to buy, and later close the deal?

Thankyou!

maul3d,

Commissions do not accumulate; they are deducted as you place trades regardless of the size. You can see this in your Account Balances window.

$2.95 per 100,000 or $5.90 round trip. There is no "later when you close".

Thanks, Justin. In the last couple hours I had several chats with some MBT representatives, and it seems that the problems had to do with an MBT issue earlier this week, when orders were getting filled at non-market prices and were then broken. So it seems that there's nothing that can be done about those erroneous trades at this point. It's really a shame, but I will say that it is the first time something like this happens in the two years I've been with MBT, so I honestly hope it doesn't happen again.

Did MBT offer a compensation for these erroneous trades? If not, then it's a shame indeed. I've had recently twice an issue with the MT4 platform: I couldn't close open trades, the system would say "off quotes" repeatedly. When I got to the dealing desk, it took them ages to close the trades (5 minutes in one case, 15 minutes!! in another, ping-ponging me from the dealing desk to support to the dealing desk) - and I wasn't offered any compensation. Overall, I'm very happy with MBT MT4, but I've never experienced such an inefficient dealers' service with a couple of other brokers I've traded with - and when I had platform issues with them, I was reimbursed on the spot...

No, unfortunately there was no compensation for those trades. I was told by an MBT representative that these things happen sometimes in any kind of trading, and that there's nothing to do about it. Anyway, I don't use MT4 - I use the MBT navigator, and so far haven't experienced such problems with it. What is strange about last week's erroneous trades, however, is that there was one trade which did not show up in my account until it was in substantial loss, when in fact I could have closed it for a profit if it had showed up properly in my account. The MBT representative I spoke to told me that it was probably because I used a slightly older version of the MBT navigator.

Justin, can you indeed confirm that MB sometimes executes orders that the client never submitted and that there is nothing that can be done about it, not even compensation for losses incurred by said orders?

I understood that it happens very rarely, and that it had to do with the switch to daylight savings time in the US about a week ago.

MB trading steals money from their customers in other words!

Why would they not just reimburse the error?

Oh, These things just happen! But, very rarely so it's OK!

Justin?

Right now I do believe that it was an honest mistake, seeing as it was the first time something like that happened to me, regardless of whether or not I should have been reimbursed. I do hope, however, that appropriate measures have been taken and that it will not happen again.

It's not honest to not reimburse the account unless they question that you actually made the trade. Was this an issue, could they confirm the trade was an error and not made by yourself?

They told me that the trades were clearly erroneous, and said so in an e-mail.

Here's what happened, if you're interested: on Monday morning, March 15 (I'm about eight hours ahead of the US), I noticed that a trade which I did not put had been activated several hours prior to that: it was a sell on GBP/USD, and the strange thing is that it had been sold at 1.5290, even though the GBP/USD did not reach that high at least one week before that. Anyway, I closed that trade for a small profit and notified MBT about the strange trade. When I woke up on Tuesday morning, I noticed that another trade had been activated - this time it was a buy on GBP/USD, which had been bought at 1.5290, even though it never reached that high. I closed the trade with a loss and notified MBT once again. Then, on Friday, another trade was activated without my permission - another buy at 1.5290. Again, I closed that trade with a loss and had a few chats with MBT representatives. In total, that whole mess cost me a couple hundred bucks.
