Looks like a bull(H1, H4, Daily, even weekly, all setup as bull) until FOMC...I would love to short a break of 1285, so bring it on!

The only thing you can do here is scalp off the 1 hour if your bored. Short or long doesn't really matter unless some idiot in DC opens his mouth today.

?? Interest rate increase appreciates the currency -theoretically. Say USD pays 2% interest and EUR 0.5%
People - rational ones - will sell their EUR to buy USD, which means demand for USD goes up so USD appreciates/gets stronger against EUR. That is what is meant by interest rate parity.

And NO, many things have changed since 2008. Wealth has changed hands. Middle class is in a worse position than before. People are discouraged to risk their savings - if there are any left - to try new adventures to get wealthier.

I remember many putting their family assets as collateral and get access to funds with some haircut from the valuation of those and try all sorts of businesses. That was the illusion, many tought the economy would grow at a faster pace. The milk turned out to be sour..

If you look at daily...there is no power in the world to close it below 1200 today. And if today ends up bullish, tomorrow will be bullish, until FOMC...then a big short could happen. Until then I expect short killings.

People will hold their euro as it gets stronger and stronger just like before 2008... Don't you remember? They wont buy dollars man.

When the DEMs get back in DC the market will take a dump again.

there will be a raise this week. the market is more tuned towards the fed guidance for the rest of the year, i.e., no raise, one more, or even two more.

1. fed doesn't like to surprise the market, and before the black-out, the tone is to raise.
2. the market is behaving like it doesn't think fed dare to tight. well, i think fed will call the bluff...

imho, maybe totally wrong..
