I can see our charts are kind of different, and I do not have the skill to tell why. Maybe some of the profs can tell. Timesetting or something.

I was thinking..is this maybe a bit sideways?. Line 3 on the chart.....selling buying selling buying for the same price all the time.. no profit if it does not move in between.

It is good to wait untill sma 5 has gone throughly through and is pointing upwards(if you consider going long. F.ex.), or there are two of the same coloured candles, like in 1&2 which I put on the chart. Then it seems more certain which way the price is moving.

Maybe you should keep an eye on the way the pair goes or put a good sl on.

Hello.
Yes, I can see sma 5 pointing up. But I just recognized ..there are only 4 long candles a couple of candles back in each of the long trends.
Also the last candles are small. So it seems a bit neutral.

Hope some of the prof can tell you.

Well, my setting are standard BB (20,2) and 5 SMA (without any shift). Are they right?

For the timesetting I'm Italian, we have daylight saving time and now it's GMT+2. And you?

Same strategy - doesn't matter if it's 1 min, hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly!

One works on one time frame is obviously going to work on the other.

It's better to trade on or near the cross. That way you have a good chance of winning. Taking it later on is difficult to estimate reversal/retracement

Probably not although last week I had a sell trade open on GBPJPY and the gap was 90 pips! Nice trade but rare and dangerous of course. I tried to trade a recovery on GJ today and got nicely stopped out!

Yes and no...
Yes because I consider myself a swing trader, a proclamation helping me to cultivate patience so if there is an attractive setup I enter.
No because of the risk of gap over the weekend (which in this case seems limited) remains an issue.
Solution: avoid oversized trades on an undercapitalized account.

It's a great system and works on the higher time frames down to the hourly chart really well. Would be great to have an alert set up! Of course if one has a VPS then one can use a couple of indi's which are available free to download on FF which send email/push alert on ema or sma cross.

Did you check Alertfx ? It might do the job.
