Same here mate, the traditional "Honest" Lags hate them and give them hell. But the tide is tipping in prison too as Muslim gangs are starting to rule. We need a proper sort out. Jen, first I want to address the Saudi arms deal. The presidents first line of duty is protecting our citizens. There are two major threats, not only for us but most of the world. It seems to me that Trump is in the process of surrounding North Korea and Iran with a line of defense, involving and weaponizing our allies. The main weaponry being sold and given our allies generally fall into two categories -- defensive missile intercept systems and smart bombs and delivery systems. I think the strategy will be to shoot down any ICBM launches then attack and destroy the launch areas. I suspect there are plans in place for a preemptive strike on Iran's nuclear facilities (also NK's) should the opportunity present itself. I understand from my sources that a smart bomb has been developed that will penetrate bout 200 feet of solid rock before the main explosion occurs. Wouldn't surprise me at all if couple those bombs already somewhere -- possibly Israel and Japan.

As to the Saudis being involved in 911 -- it's thought some low and mid level Saudi intelligence officers may have known and been involved. I've seen nothing that would prove any high or top level Saudis were involved. The Saudi royal family wants a close alliance with the US as they fear their rule could be in jeopardy if Iran continues on the path it's on. That being said, war makes strange bedfellows. Remember our and your alliance with Stalin in WWII. The world has produced no greater bloodthirsty savage.

The following is strictly my opinion, based on my observations. Things are going as well as could be expected, given the political climate in the US. I think the Trump administration has made two basic errors to this point. One was getting involved with Flynn. Though Flynn was at odds with the Obama military policy, he was a democrat. Turns out he is a typical democrat whose goal was to pad his pockets and play loosy goosy with the truth. Hopefully Trump is learning he can't deal with democrats. Politicians are unlike business people he has always dealt with. Business people have to be rational -- politicians are not. The second (and major) mistake was AG Sessions recusing himself from any investigation. You never give liberals an inch or the opportunity to attack.

And this crap called bipartisanship. Bipartisanship to a republican is telling the democrats "we will kiss your ass, include you in decisions and do what you want -- just say nice things about us and like us" Bipartisanship to a democrat is telling republicans "kiss our ass, do what we want, let us constantly attack you, tie you in knots and we will pretend we like you". The democrat party is extremely disciplined, has strong leadership that demands it members tow the line. They don't give a damn about our country, its constitution, its laws or truth. They care only about power and their ideology -- moving the US to the European socialist model then the communist model. The republicans, on the other hand have weak leadership, are disorganized and never present a solid front. Democrats circle the wagons and protect their own, no matter how big a scumbag is in their midst -- and they do have some major scumbags. Republicans will throw one of their members to the wolves for spitting on the sidewalk.

Trump and his crew are basically having to go it alone.

Then there is "the swamp". Most have no idea how big it is, how deep, how many crocodiles it contains or how many quicksand pits it contains. It has been forming since the Wilson administration in the early 20th century. It contains politicians, bureaucrats, pollsters, consultation firms, lobbyists, ect. They have always enjoyed safe anonymity -- until Donald Trump showed up. They are now in panic mode.

We also have the problem of our intelligence agencies, military, justice dept, IRS, ect. all being politicized. The rot has to be rooted out.

Trump and his cabinet are not politicians. The democrats and their media don't understand them, don't understand how or why they got elected. They have never had someone fight back. Nothing they try on him has worked. All they have is Russian collusion -- and there is not one shred of evidence. He is wooing several labor groups -- once solidly democrat. Black conservatives are openly getting involved. The democrat world is coming apart.

Conservatives have begun fighting back. You've noticed a downturn in riots? Those black masked thugs you see at riots are paid democrat (via Soros) thugs. Recently, veteran bike clubs (used to ride with one of them in earlier days) started showing up to protect the peaceful conservatives. Amazing what some skilled brass knucks and leaded billy sticks can accomplish.

I am optimistic. I like what Trump has done to this point. He seems to be a very quick learner. He has surrounded himself with the best our country has. I've watched Tillerson. Best I've seen. Sessions will be a excellent law and order AG. Illegal immigration is down 65%. Consumer optimism up sharply. Trump is slowly putting the people in place to bust the swamp wide open. If you watch closely, you can see the worry and tension on democrat faces when they leave security meetings. They know they got nothing on Trump. Trump is the type that works best under pressure. The harder you go after him, the tougher he gets.

And remember this. Trumps ultimate goal is congressional term limits and a consumer or flat tax -- eliminating the IRS and all the goodies congress now bestows on "the right people". And that, my friends, is a politicians worst nightmare!

Again -- just my observations.

Thanks Jim for the bigger picture. I know very little about that so I can't comment. However, I think it is somewhat worrying, another picture that I and many others see:
- Saudi Arabia's human rights are about the worst on the planet. In another scenario, that would at the very least demand sanctions.
- Saudi Arabia supply arms to ISIS, who are driving out civilians into Europe, where the religion and culture is alien to them. Saudi Arabia have not taken a single refugee themselves, despite being close by and having the same religion and more similar culture. You wonder about the design of all this with all the problems caused.
- Trump bombed Syria because he believed Assad gassed civilians and that was unacceptable. Saudis are killing Yemenese civilians with US weaponry and that is acceptable? Double standards.

Also, the UK is selling arms to SA too. Why? Because the Saudis have a big pot of cash and we're a bunch of moral-less tarts? We're not nuking that fat dictator.

Last night I watched this program (https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2017/may/17/isis-the-origins-of-violence-a-brave-documentary-that-will-start-many-a-fight) by Tom Holland, sorry it is a newspaper link but you should be able to find the program in 'catch-up' facilities.

I recommend it, there is some interesting discussion/enlightenment on events going right back to WW1.
Also ... there appears to be justification for genocide in the Holy Book of Peace, which has caused one sect to have fled to the mountains in northern Syria... (iirc)

Trump went up another peg in my estimation this weekend. Amongst the usual things such as swapping oil for weapons he went to discuss strategies for tackling Islamic extremists with the King of Saudi Arabia. I don't recall anybody doing that before.

It has been done before. This bomb (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tallboy_(bomb)) was about as big as you could get onto a Lancaster, which is why it was only 6 tons (-ish).
As the article states it was used for attacking underground targets where the V-series rockets were being manufactured. IIRC there was a short-delay fuse available to allow the bomb to penetrate deeper before detonation. After the USAF dropped a MOAB the other week I wondered whether that is supposed to be a ground-penetrating bomb or a low-altitude air-burst for larger area anti-personnel weapon.

This seems to be a pandemic. The political class have become detached from their electorate to the point where they simply did not realize that nobody was listening to them. As a result when somebody like Trump comes along with the resources to get himself into office without help from the swamp machinery the electorate grabbed him and gave him the chance. The 'establishment' have had the rug pulled from under them. I really hope there are no buried skeletons.

Have been watching the Riyadh conference all morning. Just watched Trumps speech on Islamic terrorism given in the heart of Islamic nations. I have been keeping up with politics since 1960, when I was 13. I have never seen a speech like it. Trump laid out the case for destroying terrorism and what it will take to create peace. If you haven't seen the speech -- I recommend it. I think this trip will change many views of Trump by the time it ends.

I have been told that the MOAB technology includes three versions. Anti-personnel, bunker buster, and property destruction. You're right bout some of the stuff concocted during WWII. Saw they dug some up couple weeks ago -- think somewhere in Germany.

There are some things about Trump that concern me, however I'm happy with what hes done so far. He is not a constitutional conservative, or a democrat (even though he voted for the bammer first time around) and he can't be classified as a republican. It appears he is simply a citizen legislator who has correctly evaluated the problems confronting the nation and has set out to fix them. He seems unconcerned with those out to destroy him because it happened all the time in the business world. It may be time to re-evaluate the party system. The really good people in congress are the ones that were tea party candidates. Funny thing is the country's founders envisioned our government to be made up of citizen legislators who served and went home. They did not envision these lifetime scumbags who go to Washington to get rich and destroy our constitution and what we stand for.
