{quote} Hello dougiewins. Thank you for answering 666fx's question. I couldn't have said it better really. 666FX, Hello and welcome to T.I.O.F Good to meet you. As has been said, particularly for the daytrader, knowing the environments of the market are important. Starting out, placing orders just before fundamental data releases may be quite challenging As one gets better, and understands the orderflow that occurs just before these data releases, one can absolutely consider specific zones, but what is key in all of this is understanding the type...

Good afternoon akt. Hope your well sir. Picking up on some of these key points of advice. Could you kindly explain a little bit more about how experiance can help pick out specific levels, How does one recognise these levels. Are they well structured and completely untouched fresh zones? I know this is not easy as you've mentioned the mindset also has to be prepered for these quick fire volatile trades. Do you have any more wise words for us day traders on the mindset required that could help us sir.

as always your feedback is appreciated

Hi Pips
Ok, here is the thing, every trader has a personality that suits them. The mindsets we have and use productively in our usual every day lives often don't work when it comes to speculating in the markets. Let us always remember that point, we are speculators. The term "trader" has come into mainstream so much that there is now a large school of opinion that tries to make this out into some sort of exact science. It is really not.
Using the term "speculator" always keeps me in the mindset that i am making a speculation on what is going to happen in a market.
Even with all the analysis in the world and all the experience in the world, the speculator will often be wrong. He/she must understand that.
How he or she mitigates and manages those periods when he is wrong is the holy grail

The good thing about S.A.D is that regardless of timeframe, the process is the same.
It is in the process you want to invest your time Pips.
What is your process?

If i took away the name of a chart and the time frame as i have done below, can you tell me which one is a 5min chart and which one is the 240min chart?

The trader trading smaller timeframes must be ready to be nimble, must understand the moves he seeks will often be short lived and so he must be ready to act accordingly. The lower in timeframe he goes the smaller the moves will likely be and he/she must be ready to take advantage of that.

I hope that helps

best wishes

Hi Akt! How many candles should be there to form a S/D ZONE minimum??? Do you consider wick/shadow??? Which TF is best to find a perfect Zone?? Plz advise. thanks & take care.

Hello loveandpeace

There is no perfect timeframe or perfect zone. No such thing.
The supply and demand zones we look for ideally should have price spend as little time at that level as possible, i use 6 periods, some SAD traders use 7, some less.
The wick of a candle is part of price action and means trades did occur at those prices represented by the wicks, people traded those levels so, yes, we use them

best wishes

Thanks sir i can't tell you how much you have helped me over the last year with your wise words that to many of us here are nothing less then pearls of wisdom.

If i understood correctly are you saying the "holy grail is discipline? If so I couldn't agree more.

As for your question not sure if it was rhetorical but I would think that the left is 240m and the right is 5m Due to the fluctuating pa.

OATS trade closed with loss.

Dear traders,
I want to share my trade. I lost, because I did not put my target properly, well I had no target. I am reading this thread from beginning and now I have found where to place first target. First fresh opposite zone in entry time frame. I have description of my thoughts in picture.

this is what i do for target ive learned it from a few traders

1st the market must move away from fresh zone at least 3times the size of the zone it created

so if the zone created is 20 pips the move away must be at least 60 pips

once market comes back for 1st touch - enter trade with set and forget or manual entry

if it doesn't give you at least a 3-1 move away then its probably not worth trading

looks like you got stopped out with a big wick candle - possible news ?

from aud usd thread earlier

looking for market to hit demand target on 30m timeframe

looks like we have pull back to fib 61.8 of 1st push away

if it holds this is classic divergence within sad areas and should hit its target area below

only issue like all systems on lower time frames its very noisy/choppy

watching with interest

Hello Winston2017
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the AUDUSD.

Could i ask please, that you include the top-down analysis with your posts so your idea can serve as educational for the fellas and felletes reading the thread please.
Also, remember what was discussed - S.A.D analysis is always the decision driving tool
The addition of fibs would be a sort of odds enhancer for you since you have some experience using them and have criteria they must fulfill.
The driving methodology for the thread remains S.A.D, just so the newer readers of the thread can focus and follow along with one methodology, which is where the top down S.A.D analysis would be of great help

thank you very much for sharing your idea.

best wishes

@Akt

hi akt re my post - sorry should have made it clearer

it was in reply to dougwins post " he was in on 30m time frame
Hey dudes & dudettes,

" This is the AUDUSD trade I took yesterday, I'm still in the trade waiting for it to hit the first demand zone it comes across. Let me know what you think...."

when i had a look at it dougwins had done top down and was pointing out he was still in the trade ? let me know what you think

i had spotted some divergence and tried to show it on the chart -- probably badly

basically, the trade was sad - then i added divergence i guess the divergence can give extra confluence?

the fibs are part of divergence set up - i dont use them any other time tbh ..

there maybe smaller time frame sad rules running in conjunction with divergence -

the divergence setups i use are very different from the norm and have multi time frame rules , but the theory behind it is -- the market has to give it all back to the start of the rally before div started ... see image

i can add some other examples if anyone is interested -- but just to stress im only looking at divergence within sad set ups

apologies if ive ran of thread or confused anyone -- but i can explain and add examples if anyone wants to learn it

ps i will try do top down if i spot anything - hopefully can help

Hello andddres1, Akt and fellow traders,

For USD/JPY discussion,

I'm thinking Daily is now Up Trend as Supply Zone was removed and may be able to draw up momentum line. Only Weekly Supply Zone has the force to stop it. Currently, it is higher probability to look for long setups in lower time frame.

Thanks
