{quote} Do you have any rules or tips for trading the shorter time frames that you are willing to share? Trading the open and before news and date seems like vegas to me even with supply demand analysis.
Ignored
Hi mate maybe I can answer this for you since I only do day trades using this method. I always plan my trades the night before or a couple of hours before London open. Without fail I have to check the time of the news releases and the only reason for that is if a trade is close to entry, the news might mess it up for me. Other than that I have no real reason to know every news release but still its just good to know the way the market moves with different news releases especially when your a day trader for daily income.

I use 4hr, 1Hr, 15min and 3min charts. The 4 hour is just to gauge the trend and the rest I do similar to what Akt does. So the 3mins chart is for my entries. You can use any, this is just the ones that make me profit. Trust me, its not vegas because everything is already priced in before the news comes out as institutions will have orders in the S&D zones. That is why I check for my entries or a trade close to my entry etc because spikes happen during news which can close you out plus spread could be added to hit stops earlier. If you can avoid those then your cool. Because really everything you need to know is in this thread and the videos. Just apply the same methodology to smaller time frames.

Stay Classy San Diego

{quote} Hello Winston2017 Welcome to T.I.O.F Good to meet you. If i may respond to you inquiry please, 1. One of the great things about supply and demand is that it is a methodology applicable to all asset classes whose prices can be charted ie stocks, options, forex, futures, bitcoin even . It is used as the core of an approach to the Markets. 2. There is a myth around supply and demand that it is sort of anti-indicators. That could not be further from the truth actually. Supply and demand as a methodology, a basis for decision...

Hello dougiewins.
Thank you for answering 666fx's question.
I couldn't have said it better really.

666FX, Hello and welcome to T.I.O.F
Good to meet you.

As has been said, particularly for the daytrader, knowing the environments of the market are important.
Starting out, placing orders just before fundamental data releases may be quite challenging
As one gets better, and understands the orderflow that occurs just before these data releases, one can absolutely consider specific zones,
but what is key in all of this is understanding the type of trade one is taking. It is usually those news releases that will drive price into your levels.

A trader trading small intraday timeframes is probably looking for paycheck trades and has his or her set up geared for that, including the mindset to go with that
approach of trading supply and demand. Quick in and out trades, trading quality levels can be very profitable
However, for someone relatively new to SAD trading and even for veterans, this can be the most challenging type of approach.

Best wishes

Welcome to T.I.O.F Sir
Good to meet you and thank you for the question

I see the wick you refer to but If you look closer, you will see that it actually did not make it to the SZ so it is still fresh.
Suppose it did though, the strategy and technique of entry in addition to the shallowness of such a test would probably still validate taking the trade

best wishes

thanks Akt

nice examples very helpful

WOULD YOU SAY THE DAILY ON SP LOOKS A BIT SHAKEY NOW AS THERE BEEN A FEW CANDLES ENTER IT - LAST 4-5 DAYS ?
or is this normal on larger timeframes

at what point did you decide to take the 15 m chart ?

was it set and forget or did you manually enter

im asking as

the 1 hour zone is quite large and plenty of room for the market to keep going north

hoping to gain some insight into the finer details

This is the update of the AUDUSD from earlier, I set alerts for when price reaches certain points so I can have a closer look to determine what to do with the trade. For anyone that day trades, 1hr and lower time frames. So its really true about trading

Thank you for the reply gentlemen. I would have given it the thumbs up but ff not allowing me to do so.
Am I right in saying that it's a rule in s.ad that entry timeframe must also be the exiting? If my research is correct The 1 hour zone will not be removed by the 5m zone? Unless the 5m zone is within in the 1hour? Also do you trade in front of the screen or do you "set and forget" I trade the same timeframe as you dougiewins except instead of using 3m I use the 5m.

Hi Winston2017

Look at the area just below 0.7105, you can see now the market got close to that level and turned, which is a demand level. The precise level of demand is at 0.07075 and the market turned at 0.75090 which is probably just a pullback to add more positions. However I never add positions when price is at places like this. Refer back to the first audusd I posted up and we have the same main target only because that area is the origin of the move.

So every time price go to these areas I workout where the next supply is and if its close I let the trade run, plus price action on a bigger time frame can also confirm that.

Hello Winston2017

I really have no opinion on what the SP is going to do because i really don't know, nobody does.
I try as much as possible to be flexible in my expectations and rigid with my rules.

The reason i sold was mainly because of where price was.
That is why i went down in time-frame to identify quality supply to execute at
As noted in the picture posted, it was a set and forget trade.
I don't often trade smaller time frames as i am often not in front of my screens

best wishes

Looks like we have abit in common fella. Been trading around 5years strictly intraday. Have had
my fair share of Ups and downs. Been using supply and demand for most of those years. Although the methodology is on point I still struggle intraday trading sometimes. Have you got any more thoughts or tips for day trading?

I've learnt a lot from experience for example if it's to good to be true it more than likely is. And to quote the legendary trader Paul Tudor jones "treat every trade like it's a loser"

thanks in advance
