Hi guys,

started reading this thread just two days ago, I am very sorry for the thread author and great teacher Big E (eelfranz), RIP man, your legacy will continue.

I want to share some insights I discovered, maybe these ain't new, but was lazy to read almost 4k thread pages. I called it "pockets aproach".

Big E talked about crossings on green and red TDI lines and trading accordingly on first or max. second candle bar after crossing, I saw in graphics, that its possible to take pips not from just crossings but also from so called "pockets"m which occur from one crossing to another. Basic idea is simple, if red line is above green it means "put pocket", if green line is above red - "call pocket". All pockets marked in pictures.

Also Big E's favourite timeframe was 4 hours/daily, but he mentioned in many posts that he uses as well 1 hour TF. I just looked on info graphics various TF and saw that "pockets" can occur on any TF from 1 minute to 1 month, ofc, the longer TF, the more accurate they are.

I did not test "pockets" in practice yet, but I think this is quite valid setup approach. Will test next week and waiting for your opinion guys. Good luck all and best wishes to Mizi123 who recommended this thread.

Its weekend time and as usual, we have many visitors to this thread. So this last post above should be good reminder that you must read this thread. I know it huge number of posts, but if you read from post#1 to 12,912, it will do you good. I did that 7 years ago and reading and taking my own notes has made me a better trader. Look at my Trade Explorer and that is real. Remember, profitable trading is long term 3 to 5 years and do not look at short term results and all the claims made by some traders here.

Good luck.

Well, by meaning that I am not ready reading all the posts, I want to say, that it takes not only precious time, that could be already invested in trading you may understand, but also, that reading so many posts can distort simple rules, posted in the beginning. As they say, give one effective strategy to 12 traders and you will have 12 new bad strategies.

So there is point just reading original rules by Big E and trying to keep them so simple as they are, and for simplicity its not necessary to read around 12 000-80 000 posts.

Anyway, everyone does as it seems appropriate, no strict rules about understanding - one understands from first few hundred posts, another needs lifetime.

Learning is one thing, learning wisely is another...

Time is the one thing in business that isn’t infinite. Other things you can borrow, find, or make yourself.

Learning wisely: extract core of the Big E teaching, understand it and start applying in week or few.

Just learning: read 100 000 posts (takes fe w years, but ist worth, isnt it, though Big E allready put all his knowledge, but its better tweak them in next few years, who knows? Then again, dont rush, after tweaking for few years, try it on demo for next few years. Then again aftter about 10 years of tweaking and demoing, put some capital aside for another few years. Well, when you are around 80 years old, you have all the confidence and you can start .

Nevermind guys, just teasing

Hi,

I see more and more screenshots with a double "Moving Average" in this forum.

Example:

Can someone please tell me more about this. Why is it introduced and how to use it?

Thanks.

That double "Moving Average" is what is known as the Price Action Channel or the "yellow brick road".
If you search this thread using keywords "price Action Channel" or "PAC" and "yellow brick road", you will find many posts on these.

This PAC is not new and in fact go back to 2006/2007.

If you look at our OP's post in hos other thread, you will see he started trading with the PAC.
https://www.forexfactory.com/showthr...47#post2253747

as he gained more trading experience, he drop the PAC and replaced that with a 5EMA,Typical Price, Shift+3 and call his method the 5-Method.

In his other thread, he traded several methods or systems:
https://www.forexfactory.com/showthr...97#post4385897

some traders here are still using the PAC instead of the 5EMA.
we mix up different methods here, some prefer the use of the PAC, some prefer the 5EMA, some do not use any and rely on pure price action.
As for me, I don't care what you prefer so long as you make money consistently.
https://www.forexfactory.com/showthr...97#post4385897

learn the use of the PA, go back Big E's other thread... link here:
