Hi FPB , by following this idea, and following smoothtrader parameters , we would have to follow the SL AND TP ... SO LESS CURRENCIES AND LESS EXPECTATIONS ...
I WIL TEST SOME DAILY BASKETS ON HIGHER LEVELS THIS WEEK TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS...

In this regard, have been wondering how EA selects which pairs to trade when number of max trades is set. For example, when max trades is set to 9, how does EA determine which 9 pairs will be traded if there are more than 9 pairs that qualify to be traded? Strongest vs weakest in descending order?? Also, a function limiting the number of times a currency may be traded (for a particular week) might flatten out equity curve a bit... Max high, and low weekly tallies would vary less from their mean.

Hi Pippopotamus,
The EA has no logic concerning the selection of the pairs when the Max trades is set. The original request was to have this input so that the EA would limit the number of trades. The original request did not specify that the EA had to have criteria for selecting which pairs to open until the max number is encountered. The other way the EA limits trades is by the detection of available margin. Right before the EA initiates a trade it will check to see that there is enough margin in the account. Otherwise the EA will not execute the trade.

This EA in reality just mimics the trade rules that are on pg1 and because it mimics them it has the following characteristics:
1. Open a basket of trades at X hours on X day of the week.
2. The basket will contain trades of the listed of pairs (provided by the CCfp-Diff indicator)
3. Close the basket when TP/SL is reached
4. If the basket is still open by the end of the week, then close it 1hr 10min before market close.

This particular EA is nothing more than extension of US. It has no logic for determining when a trade should be opened. IT basically just opens and closes trades at particular times or TP/SL levels. It does the work for US so we can PLAY and SLEEP LOL
Our AWESOME IMAGINATION is the true holy grail!

Hi Jess my v37 did not close the orders Friday, is it a bug?
Then I did not understand the virtual basket well:
I decide to open the virtual basket at a precise time (GMTOpenHour) on the day you want (GTMOpenDayofWeek), and when the virtual basket reaches the desired value (VirtualTriggerBasketLevel) open the orders in the account, is it right?
If I want to open in the orders Monday at 08:00 GMT I have to remove the virtual basket?

good w.e.

That;s correct. Either you use the basket or don't by setting
UseVirtualBasket True or False.

YEs it is a bug.. You have to understand that v37 contains many requests that took some of the automation away from the EA. One of them being the closure of the basket. So now it is up to the user to decide when the basket gets closed. In doing this I changed the code. I released this last Sunday as a Major Beta version. The changes were incorporated but I did not test anything. I left it to you guys to tell me what was missing.

So far this is the list of bugs:
1. Does not close on Friday as expected (some of u did not have this problem)
2. When a basket is closed (whether by EA or by Button) the EA will immediately start up a new basket
3. The profit Lock is not working
4. The discrepancy between the basket and account is considerable (I found it to be up to 100 pips myself, this I did test last Sunday)
5. In some cased the EA did not open a new basket when it was instructed to
6. The basket did not trigger a new basket properly.

I'll be looking into these things this weekend... as soon as I get over my jet lag LOL..

Claudia,

I looked at your myfxbook and you're results are awesome. Just to clarify, I'd like to ask you a few questions, if you don't mind.

1. You're running a basket daily but with the default weekly settings? Only one basket per day?
2. What time do you enter?
3. You said the key is when to get out. Do you look at each chart to make that decision or do you get out of the basket all at once?

If you don't want to answer, I understand.

Regards,
Gila

Hi Gilab

I use the daily settings not weekly. One basket per day.

Enter time is set at 08.00 UK time (which is currently 22.53)

I close the baskets all at once don't look at charts for this just profit/loss.

Edit: trading max 8 pairs and have the NZ ones deleted

The EA loads them automatically.

The EA is designed to mimic what you would do manually by following the rules on pg1.
Pg1 rules basically state this.
1. Set an hour and the day you want a basket to be opened.
2. when that hour and day happen you look at the list of trades that are provided by the ccfp-diff indicator and open the trades as specified per each pair
3. You then wait till the basket either hits TP or SL. If by Friday the basket is still open you close all trades 1:10 minutes before the close of Market.

That is it, nothing complicated. As I mentioned before. This EA is just an extension of US. It allows us to SLEEP LOL or Go do other Real Life things while it does the work of trading for you. This of course does not relieve you of any control over when to CLOSE the basket manually.

In my case I set my Target Profit to 10%/week. When I wake up or get a chance I check to see the Profit status of the basket if I see anything greater than 7%, I immediately close the basket, I don't wait for it to reach 10%. I then SIT ON MY HANDS for the rest of the week. LOL. Well actually I go and do other things and forget about it completely.. until next Monday/Tuesday when the I am again waiting to see the result of profit.

The source of my confusion. I was under the impression that the EA opened trades automatically. Reading the last 1% of a thread, as I did here, is not enough to be sufficiently well informed to ask sensible questions .

Hi Claudia,

You wrote that trade max 8 pairs a day, how you select them if CCFp shows you more pairs than 8?
What does it mean "NZ once deleted" ?

Thanks

A.

Hi

Select maximum 8 pairs that's all it will show.

By NZ I mean the New Zealand pairs I have deleted from the indicator. I look on a daily basis which pairs have caused losses and remove them. USD/CHF next.

Will add them back after a week or will obviously run out of pairs ! Just something I'm trying.

@ xmess - here's a thought based on my earlier post. Would it be possible for the ea to delete pairs once they are x% losers then reinstate them after x days. Might sound silly but there is some logic there.

Delete NZD pairs by turn them to false.
