this is what am trying to say it has to be more than gassing each other as we all know that it takes more than two days to work out who actually did what these people are basically modern day barbarians particularly ISIS so who really know's who did it

I'm not saying that any of it makes sense, but if Assad thought that he had the support of Trump and Putin, maybe he thought that he could do what ever he liked

if you remember Assad was accused of this before and when the UN i think went in to investigate they said it was ISIS using the chemical weapons i just can't work out the u turn from Trump

Someone who I know is close to the situation just explained it to me minutes ago so I will quote her now:

"The neoconservatives have been trying to politically assassinate Trump. They are supposed to be all excited and think they’ve won. They’re pathetic really. Trump has just defeated them and pulled their Trumps a traitor he’s Putin’s puppet rug out from under them. How much longer can McCain and Rubio credibly continue their stupid Russia investigation? Trump has wiped out Assad’s chemical attack debts phony or not by taking out a few planes so Assad is now safe from the neocons. also on a side note a truck of peace has just killed 5 people in Stockholm but don't worry because in Sweden diversity is their strength so if they just invite some more guests around the problem will just solve itself

My understanding is that 'people' have been and looked at the chemical incident site of a couple or three days ago, and said that there has been no recent activity from 'rebels' in that area and there was no stockpile of nasty stuff which accidentally went off. Therefore the chemicals were delivered by other means and there are bodies of all ages in the street, and videos of parents holding their dying children.

There are a couple of things that need to be straightened out.

Firstly, on the previous occasions when there was any chemical nastiness Obama was still in the hot-seat. So this time Trump has decided to show some balls and I believe he got advice before taking the decision rather than relying on tweets from Syria.
Second, the rebels fighting in Syria are not ISIS (AFAIK) they are just pissed-off with Assad and want him out. The ISIS or Da'esh fighters are over in Iraq and are trying to carve out their own country after Blair and Bush kindly removed all the opposition to such intentions.
Third, the UN is not the USA even if they get a lot of support and help from them.

There is precedent for presidents gassing their own people. The most remembered incident is Saddam Hussein who killed 5,000 Kurds by spraying them from aircraft. So I would not put it passed anybody in that region to try such a thing, and yes that includes the rebels.

Does anyone know what is happening in South Africa? The rand is now junk and are they heading the same way as Zimbabwe, with the blacks doing land grabs? There is an awful lot of wealth in Cape Town, belonging to whites obviously, yet just a few miles out you have mile upon mile of shanty town. I guess where there is such wealth next to such poverty, a casket will inevitably blow.

A quick Google search of Julius Malema, and Jacob Zuma should shed light on the narrative in which under the "Democratic party banner have preached the tolerance of hate towards whites.

After the fall of Apartheid and the institution of affirmative action favoring blacks, working class whites have been living in squalor finding it difficult to find work. Hence the fact that "shanty towns can be seen every where. Also add to the fact that Julius Malema, and Jacob Zuma have been advocating the expropriation of land from whites without compensation for some time now as these two clowns have been quoted as saying death to the white bor and white genocide should be an option. Race tensions between black and whites comes on top of a white populist movement that is characterized by deep resentment as the phobia of angry South African Blacks is fanning the flames of an all out race war. Government corruption is at epidemic proportions, less than 10% conviction rate for murderers and rapists in which 1 in 4 males have admitted to and HIV rates are among the highest in the world. The murder rate, which recently climbed to 4,9 percent making it 51 people being killed every day, is being classified as the murder capital of the world without any end in sight. As of right now, there is a silent exodus of whites leaving South Africa because many see the situation in South Africa plummeting fast and untenable to fix. All of this doesn't nearly get the news coverage of everything else around the Globe because MSM is too busy virtue signaling and creating distractions along the other narratives of terrorism and immigration issues facing the rest of the world. We live in a time when the world is truly on fire!

I know quite a few South Africans and have work along side them in many projects and they all say the same thing. I met a pastor recently who moved his entire family to escape the inherent dangers I just articulated and is truly breath taking the story they tell and what they had to give up in order to flee to safety.

i just does not make sense to me why escalate a fight that you are winning from a tactical point of view it makes no sense to me to start gassing his own people. by the looks of things i just do not know enough about what exactly is going on in Syria

MartyGP is a coward and cretin of the first order. We had a friend in here called ThunderHeart a while back who was perhaps a little too outspoken with the truth and often ended up on the wrong side of these fragile libtards. Thanks I'm a bit lazy and don't have much time to look it up myself at the moment being on the road, but why do I need to when you explain it so well? You are the rabbits' appointed boffin.

It is such a shame about SA. I doubt if I will ever go back there. I loved Cape Town. The Radisson is one of my favourite hotels. I used to get a little worried driving around on my own but I guess it's a definite no-no now!

A very good summation, I think. Many things at play. US lost major credibility with Obama's "line in the sand". Trump made many points with this attack. The UN was told by Haley that it was impotent and since they couldn't do the job we would -- first step in our cutting funds to only our share. Demonstrated what a destroyer squadron is capable of -- don't have to send in a carrier group. I think the fact that Russia was complicit in the gas attack and bombing of the hospital follow up is significant. They lied about removing the gas from Syria and Obama administration either lied or could care less and only looking for a photo opp. Trump, as a father and grandpa was also visibly moved by seeing the effects of gas on women and children. The fact it was done immediately, without warning while meeting with the Chinese leader sends the message to China, Russia, N. Korea and Iran that we will use force when necessary. A carrier group is heading to the Korea area at the moment. The fact that Trump is meeting with Arab leaders and reestablishing ties is also very encouraging.

Hopefully, our military is being rebuilt quickly enough and the world will once again understand that peace comes through the proper use of military strength.
I am referring to the US and our allies -- not just the US action alone.

Me neither, but I have a pretty good memory. This Syria thing has now been going on for 7 years. That has all the hallmarks of a civil war.

However since the new set of balls in town bombed the Syrian air force, and now Russia and Iran have issued black warnings, it may be all about to come to a head.
