We have a very fragile form of government. Our founders told us as much -- a government dependent on good people doing the right thing. Two very strong points have been done away with -- states rights were guaranteed by state legislatures electing senators -- now done by popular vote so voters can vote themselves bennies thus open to vote buying. The other was the founders envisioned citizen legislators -- not goofballs getting in for life by giving out bennies. I'm hoping we can start to get back on track. Why brexit so important to us -- many Americans see US and Brits joined at the hip and both us fighting for our freedom.

In the US, that is the symbol of the black panther party -- Louis Farrakhan, ect.

Gloves are off! Trump blaming Obama policy for latest Syrian gas attack. That being said, doesn't seem to me Trump administration knows at this moment how to handle the situation.

Getting on ignored list now by people I've never seen or heard of. Makes me so sad!

No. They are a mostly black domestic terrorist organization dating back to the mid 60's. They love to paint themselves as a civil rights group but that is BS. You might remember couple blacks held up a clinched, gloved fist at the, I think, Mexico Olympics. In this morning's news reports we have the latest divisive witterings from the Labour Party.

Those who can afford, or even those who in-debt themselves, to pay for better education for their children should pay VAT on the school fees. The tax proceeds will be used, allegedly, to fund free primary school meals for the rest of the country. ....really? You mean it will not end-up funding the foreign aid budget? ....or the roads pot-hole repair fund?

This little gem is borrowed from other Parties' ideas, specifically it was in the manifesto of the Liberal Democrats. Also it appears that the idea was vetoed by Mrs.May when it was suggested for the Conservative Party in the recent past.

These people cannot see past the end of their noses!

Corbyn is an absolute numpty. The Authors of the report on Radio this morning have said that they have not proven the the correlation between free school meals and improved attainment and that more research is required.

He seems to have no understanding that it is not only the rich who send their kids to private school, but also middle income parents who feel that the state system is shit (largely due to Labour education and social policies) and deprive themselves of life luxuries in order to afford the very high fees. Introducing VAT of private education will damage the sector, reduce the number of place taken up and in turn fail to deliver the expected revenue. I say all this and then ask myself the question, would the UK electorate vote into power, someone who would not be prepared to use lethal force in order to protect his country's citizens?

I do think this stuff needs to be in place. But it has to be policed well and structured right I have no issue in my tax feeding some kids at school if I know the kids parents aren't sitting on the couch, smoking, drinking and watching Jeremy Kyle all day. They have to be out trying to get work, doing constructive things.
EDIT: Agree Vat on that education is just staying we prefer more dumb people please
I am for Capital and corporal punishment. However I would not rely on a jury to decide on capital cases. That would have to be clear evidence, like video, photographic evidence clear and without any doubt. When I was kid you got the cane, plimsoll and other effective instruments in school for misbehaving. I bet if they conducted a survey of how how youth behaviour/morals has deteriorated since the abolition of that there would be steep curve.

I agree with you. There has to be accountability at all levels from Government down to the individual/citizen level. Tax is essential but the Governments accountability in its spending of our taxes is even more important. Waste, budgetary stupidity and incompetence should be sack-able offences. All budgets should have a proper plan, including evidence that the desired outcome is achievable, full monetary audit trail, proof of value for money spending, proof of outcome and someone's gonads on the line. This criteria should especially apply to foreign aid, which I think should be open to public scrutiny right from the proposal stage

This is another thing going on under the radar. Trump is having all cabinet heads analyze their departments. He wants waste and unnecessary people eliminated. Won't be mass firings -- just retirement. Ultimate goal is to eliminate departments like energy, education, and couple others. Federal hiring was frozen first few days. New budget eliminates lot of things like planned parenthood (read abortion factory's) and PBS. All out war now between democrat machine and conservatives. We are starting to wonder if the media is a branch of the democrat party or the democrat party is a branch of the media?
