Here I'll give the whole idea lol...

The approach is real simple, this is based on what I have observed and the initial data that forexpinbar provided,

I am using the default settings on the indicator as per template on pg 1
The EA is set to open basket on Monday at 11 gmt. With Tp=0 and Sl=500
As for lotsize i use .01 per $200 of balance
I look to get out whenever 7% or greater is reached
If by middle of week I do not reach profit, I look to get out at BE or small loss like 1-2%.

That is it in a nut shell

Hi everybody !!!! I want first to thank all the pros like forexpinbar , xmess7 , smoothtrader and all the others that helps all the others without counting their time and effort...
I just want to share something that me an another are testing this week ... there is so much possibilities with this EA and strategy...
We trade from 9GMT everyday and set the tp at 200 pips and sl at 300 pips ......
3 days in a row that 200 pips is reached and we are already settled for tomorrow at 9 gmt .
CCFP 10080 false false
we are working on the profit lock and trailing setting but it is working fine for now ..
We will see what happens in the next days or weeks but i like the fact that it is not too much long opened.
Some tryied some kind of trading this way ???

Strange that the Pips Gain is 0. You are right you should of been closed out at 500+ pips.

Hit F3 look at globals, tell me if u see a variable called "xm7_week_pips" and the value it has. That is the what should be equal to Pip Gain.
If it is there then v18.3 has a major bug. Go head and reset the globals and reload the EA. The EA will pickup your trades and should set the correct numbers.
The only thing that really gets affected is the Max and Min pips. So if u were tracking them they would be erased and start over.

Let me know if the reset helped, otherwise there is a major bug that your broker settings are affecting the pip count. I say your broker cause so far others have not reported this condition

Not yet... not until I release the source code.

Originally the EA was to be MUCH MORE simpler than what you see it now.
So there was no NEED for instructions cause it was intuitive.
But with the addition of features, well, you get what you see MORE LOL.

So when we have this bug free... we will have time to sit down and write up
a real good instruction guide with pictures and all LOL.

the weird thing is that the template works properly with ea and indicator loaded properly except when i try the following inputs - TF 10080 and Current: false - Bar: False. - change the TF to any other number and the indicator and EA works properly? or leave the TF @ 10080 and and change Current: true - Bar: True and it works again!!??
no worries i will use my other terminal as it wonks on that one!!!???

Keep us posted. I you guys are up to it, I recommend you use the logToFile feature. Just set the input to True.
So you can show daily chart plots of how the basket moved.

You will need to MANUALLY rename the file each day. The EA is only programmed to restart the log file
once a week but if you rename the file it will create a new file.
So since u are dealing with days, all you need to do is go into
MQL4/Files
find the csv file that starts with "xm7_Ccfp.." and rename it.
Do this at the end of each day.

It would be great if u can do this and show us them charts. Cause there could be a simple pattern that can help us.

v31 is the latest and so far I think it has proven to be stable.
Forexpinbar when u get chance please add this one to pg1.

The reason I update all those versions is cause several of you are using them.
I can understand that once you find something that works that you stick with it.
So it makes sense that many of you are just what is working for you.

the limitation of the versions before v31 is that they do not detect the DST shift adequately,
You can work with it by manually changing the value of the global variable xm7_BrokerFridayGMTCloseHour
for each of the days that the US and EURO shift their hours.
In addition v31 goes directly to http://time.is/GMT and gets the GMT time from there.
There are also some bugs with the closebutton and the way it records profit. These are not bugs that
you will constantly see but the tend to happen once in a while in the older versions. Which again can be handled by simply
reloading the EA.

The final version (v33 at this moment) will have all that ironed out.

Is it a coding thing, why it's this /2 value used? I guess it was easier if you set: set profit lock 100 with trail lock 50=> profit is lock at 100 pips and then at 150 and 200 and so on is secured.

I am a bit dumb, so If I want my first profit lock to be at 100 and then at 200 and then at 300 and then at 400, what should I do?
First set profit lock at 200 (100/2), then set the Trailing at 200? So, it will lock at 100(200/2) and then at 100+100(200/2 from trailing) and so on?

Just an idea and hopefully not too off topic from the weekly method; it may be a silly idea that I also started testing just now but has anyone looked into opening the basket on a certain hour (popular session start hours should be tested) and then close the basket at the end of that hour only to restart at the next hour and so on?

The trades don't necessarily have to be held to the end of the hourly candle. Based on my first observation so far, there may be something usable in, let's say the first 15 minutes of each hourly candle. The basket could also be closed earlier in the hour at a predetermined net pip gain or loss. For example, I just opened some trades at the start of the last hourly candle and with 11 minutes into the hour, the basket already reached $30.

So let's say the basket is closed at a net of $10 and if that shows to be consistent then that isn't bad for a smaller account.

Kezz: The 1/2 thing was a request made by Forexpinbar. It was just a preference he had.

Unfortunately due to the way the code is implemented you would not be able to get the locks in
that fashion. The closest we could get to what u want is to set the inputs like this:
StartProfitLockAt=200
TrailingLockEver=150

So when the basket reached 200 pips the profit is locked at 100 pips. The rest of the sequence would follow like this
basket reaches +350 pips === lock is 175 pips
basket reaches +500 pips === lock is 250 pips
basket reaches +650 pips === lock is 325 pips
basket reaches +800 pips === lock is 400 pips
etc etc

Here is a real world example:

My basket this week: (false, false, 10:00 GMT, 16 pairs, 400 pip SL {16 pairs * 25 pips per pair = 400 pips}, 1200 pip TP {3 * 400 pip SL = 1200 pips for a Risk to Reward ratio of 3 to 1}, ProfitLock of 500 pips {1.25 * 400 pips SL = 500 pips}, and TrailingLock of 200 pips {1/2 400 SL}).

Basket moved to +500 pips profit so my SL was moved from -400 pips to +250 pips {1/2 of 500 pip ProfitLock} because of the ProfitLock. Next SL move when basket profit reaches +700 pips {500 pips ProfitLock + 200 pips TrailingLock = 700 pips}.

An additional +200 pips profit was reached, giving my basket a total of +700 pips profit, this triggered the TrailingLock to raise my SL to +350 pips {(500 pips ProfitLock + 200 pips TrailingLock) divided by 2 = +350 pips}. Next SL move when basket profit reaches + 900 pips {500 pips ProfitLock + 200 pips TrailingLock + 200 pips TrailingLock = 900 pips}.

The basket moved up and close to the next TrailingLock, but not quite. It then moved against me to where the basket profit was only +350 pips, and you guessed it, I was stopped out of my basket thereby protecting 350 pips of profit.

That is weird!!!! I also used Pepperstone with no problems but never seen that none of the globals get recorded!

Since my basket closed early this week (at a TrailingLock profit), I put together a spread sheet that examined the correlations between the 16 signal pairs (false, false) this week. As you may be aware correlation between pairs go from +100 to -100, with +100 being perfectly correlated (move in the same direction by the same amount) and -100 being inversely correlated(moving in opposit direction by the same amount). A zero correlation indicates that there is no dicernable partern between the two pairs.

In basket trading, if the correlation between the pairs chosen was high that means that there would be a multiplying effect of our leverage across multiple positions. For example if the correlation between the two pairs Aaa/Bbb and Zzz/Yyy was 100 and you had .10 lots of each you would not have a diversified basket because both would generally move in the same direction by the same amount. If the correlation between the two pairs was -100 and you Buy one and Sell the other you would be in the same situation.

The closer to 0 that the correlation between the pairs in a basket, the more diversified it happens to be. Interestingly enough, the 16 pairs and positions chosen this week show an average correlation of just 26 which indicates that it is fairly diversified.
