Break of R1 was needed which did not happen.

It broke through pivot and as well as s1. so more bearish.

But down the level, there will be weekly levels to hold and reverse for a retracement..

As a swing trader, I am disposed to trading USDJPY southwards this week. Here's why, from a technical perspective.

The pair has been on the descent on the weekly time frame since December 2015. It entered a corrective mode in November 2016 and peaked at the 78.6 Fib level in December 2016, respecting a major descending trendline (chocolate colour) which began in October 2015. Price action since November 2016 tends to align with an inner descending trendline (dotted line in chocolate colour). Two weeks ago, a bullish candlestick formed to validate the inner trendline and got pushed back by bearish pressure around a resistance zone. Last week an engulfing-like candlestick formalized the bearish influence and disposed the price action further southwards. Details on this pair and a few others are given at weekly technical outlook.

I may be wrong. Trade safe and prosper.

i thought the interest rate difference means usd is a buy and keep

Thanks m8 for the info. But I trade technically and swing my trade on a weekly basis. So I look for the southward opportunity because the overall technical disposition is southwards for the week.

I agree the trend might down this week but believe UJ is just in a corrective phase and should resume uptrend "soon".

If you want to long, i suggest montly fibo 38,2 at 111.117.
That fibo is still clean, never been touch yet, and i think this week will be touch then get huge slap and kick off high to the sky...
