Thanks for sharing your thinking and your target. I agree with your first target. My targets start a little lower and goes like this:

1) 1.0790
2) 1.0822
3) Finally a thin zone at 1.0870 to 1.0885

Higher than 1.0885 doesn't look realistic for March.. my humble idea..

careful Ata, the resistance has just rejected, i watch carefully USD JPY right now, i think it will RETRACE, DON'T BUY at this moment.

I highly recommend all of you to imagine "how to enter the long trend" instead of "how to detect a top to sell".. we are bullish and we keep staying bullish.. what goes up so strong will often not come down easily..

"Often" is a bold word in my sentence which means there will be never a 100% guarantee for each and every case but that the chances are always higher for trend continuation than reversal after strong breakouts. So follow the trend and delay all your feelings that tells you to do the opposite.

hey everyone! long time lurker here. I just wanted to share that I was long before the fed even spoke. In fact, I've been a bull for a little while. I made 72+ pips on the eurusd today. check it out - www.fxtradeideas.com

I was not talking at all about buying right now.. what I was trying to emphasize was to look for buys once retracement reaches important support levels.. for example starting from around 1.0720 to 1.0695 zone.. my deepest buy target zone lies around 1.0667

Agree with this. I think there's a really strong chance the price is going to retrace to around the 1.06450 level and then continue the overall trend. I'm in a short hoping to take some profit off the retracement, and then I'll take a long position once the retrace has completed. My position is a bit risky, but based on all the factors I think it's solid. Ignore the fib. I don't even use that crap other than to get a guess at what the self-fulfilling prophecies might be.

Look to the left of your chart.. based on "structure" what would prevent your targets to be reached? The chart talks for itself. Just see it.. and consider a continuation starting from 1.07 area instead of your deep targets.. To me such deep retracement level looks unrealistic.. again: based on "structure" and not fib.

I don't think I'm understanding you. My position is basically this. I think we're very close to the end of the upward push, as the momentum has died out, and there's a pin-bar on the 1 hour. I think the odds are very good that the price will retrace downward enough that I can take a profit that's at least 2x my stop loss risk. So once I've made twice what I'm risking in my stop loss, I'm happy to accept that. And it could very likely go further downward in the retracement. I tend not to use hard take profit targets, but manually trail my stop loss instead.

The main problem I see with my current trade is that there is no real barrier to prevent my stop loss being hit. 1.074 could be a resistance level based on what the price has been doing lately. But I'm not sure on that, so I can't rely on it. And the pin-bar I'm seeing went above 1.074. Ideally I would have my stop loss above the previous candle's high, but that would put me past my risk limit, so I chose to take the risk of my stop getting hit instead.

I'm new to this game though, so I don't claim to have a clue what the hell I'm doing. Just a slightly educated guess.

I too anticipate a 40% retraction and then I would enter long position

I am explaining my idea of "structure" as simple as it gets. Look to the left means look to see previous highs. On the hourly chart you clearly have 2 major support areas and the 3rd area is already to deep.. but your target is even deeper than all 3.. I agree it still can go deep like hell but very very rare. So focus more on S1: 1.07 area and if that doesn't holds maybe S2: 1.0670 area.. that's all I was saying brother.. I hope I could clarify myself.. good luck..

Ahh I see what you're saying now. Basically support/resistance levels. I agree with you there. My perspective is even if price only drops to the S1 level, it will still give me a 1:2 risk:reward ratio, which is my minimum. I'm hoping it drops all the way to 1.06450. But aren't we all hoping the trade goes infinitely in our favor?
