So I don't think this has been answered or asked for that matter, but curious for my own understanding, what are the buy and sell signals going off of? Is it just trend (MA)?

Hello Liovannix,

Thanks for your input and sharing of knowledge!

For trend trading it is commonly known that aggreement with next higher time frame is a positive thing, so maybe it make sense for better result to take only those currency pairs witch have monthley aggreement.
Also You write that you have better experience with Multi Time Frame indicator (CCFp-MTF) as with the standard CCFp-Diff-V2. Can you please elaborate (explain some more on your CCFp-MTF experience) so we can learn from it?

Kind regards, Piet

I have closed out this week because I actually never got a signal on the Daily Plus Weekly CCpfMTF. I knew the week was not the best for weekly trading.
The most important resistance and support point in retail trading is to me the weekly, Call it Brexit, Swissfrac market crash or any other market movement, the most likely end and reverse point is usually the weekly resistance/support. Like the double top or double bottom analyst will tell you, that point is formed because the market will retest that position so the double test will give double top/bottom. If bounces off the weekly resistance, the mostlikely point no matter how long will be the next weekly resistance/support and if it goes through the you are aiming for the next weekly resistance/support.

Yes the monthly direction or trend will define the weekly trade that safe for you, how ever in a blind opening of a trade in the weekly chart your SL should be equal to the weekly ATR believe me its not small pips for a retail trader. Its Daily ATR times 7. So my experience with CCFp is to stay with Daily as defined by Weekly Trend. I use the 4Hrs chart to monitor a trade that I will like close soon once I get opposite signal on 4Hrs chart, then I know there is likly a pullback soon on the Daily chart, So almost all my trades decisions are taken at GMT +2 Daily knowing that my SL will take the likely pull back.
Here is a thread I like http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=519747 because it MTF.
Here is any indicator I like so much as single look will tell me what I looking for either buy or sell.Mint signal2. You need to change your MA settings to what you believe and tested that works for you. The Mint signal2 was actuall was 1M,5M,15M and 1H so appologies to the coders, you have to optimize to work for you, no one size fit all.
Here again you will see I am looking at Heiken Ashi MTF...http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...56#post9524256
From the above post; http://www.forexfactory.com/attachme...0&d=1488231620 , you will see I stick to 3 times frames MTF, it will not make more money for you compaired to 4H chart, but its less stressfull and you can trade 10 mins a day.

So my CCFp_MTF, I open trades on Sunday/Monday GMT +2, and every same time, throughout the week, any pair that gives opposite signal, is a suspect. So should it losses signal on the Daily+Weekly CCFt.MTF, I close it out. A likely re entrance is not advisable as its like a doji formation. Dont forget the weekly trend may have come to an end as it may have been running for many months.

Ofcouse I look at my chart. A good indicator: HGI by Steve plus Mint signal2 are enough to monitor your trades.

Attached is a pic experiment on anything MTF

It's that impulsive move I talked about in post:
http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...30#post9600130

according to the charts that we saw I noticed that if an impulsive move of +300 pips happens before mid week that the basket would surge up to more than 500 pips.
So now we see this impulsive move happen before the middle of this week.

However I also noticed that when the basket started out the week negative, we still saw that impulse happen but this time it was from the negative going up. The basket would reach a brief moment where it was positive and then crash. So based on that it would of been logical to close the basket at mid point with either a small loss or small profit.

So since my basket started out negative and has been since the start, I would be moved to close the basket tonite at mid week, in order to capture whatever profit or small loss before experiencing a crash.
Going forward I am going to take note of this and see if it is relatively consistent. Right now we don't have enough data, so it is just observation at this point. I can at least pretend to close the basket and make not of the profit and compare that to letting the basket ride till the end of the week.

Anyhow I opened my basket on Monday 11:00 GMT TP: 500 pips, SL: 500 pips. As you can see from the image the highest it has gone is 241.9 pips and the lowest has been -280 pips. Currently at +198 pips or a 6.69% gain. the overall gain since I started the basket more than 2 weeks ago is 29.9%.

Do you think individual weekly ATR as exit can help with this impulsive move?

Good idea. We'll see. What I am proposing is to monitor this and see if it is consistent. See if each week we see this type of move and pattern.
If we do then we can calculate the probability of when it happens and then gauge our exit with that number.
The basic idea is to know when in the week we need to get out cause the numbers are telling us that there is a big probability that the basket will not end positive.
I am not concerned with the positive basket side. That is easy, u just let the basket go and it will either close positive or the EA or YOU will close it on Friday.

It's the negative side that we need to attack.
As far as the ATR I would use that and compare it to the range of the average basket move. OR even create an ATR for the basket move and then compare that to the ATR. Just some ideas that try to give you a number that can be related to what is observed.

Here's a good real example. Have you notice that when NY session starts, prices usually go crazy? Then around NY 3pm everything calms down, prices start to slow down? I have notices this and in another EA I have programmed it to trade around those hours with success cause the approach is geared toward the slow moving prices. Of course we do have features that will take over if prices moves faster but in general the probability has been on our side and we have not had the EA exercise those features but a couple of times in a 6 month period. BTW the probability of that too is calculated..
