Hi all, Very interesting thread but I'm wondering, the overview of the demo account at the top suggests this system has been losing for some time. Is that truly the case? Is anyone seeing a profit over time? Thanks
Ignored
I think this strategy works well when pairs are trending. When pairs are ranging or reversing you will have loses. Of course I'm just logically thinking, no actual data yet.

During the last three weeks I got a personal experience where the basket drops to -400pip and came back to positive results later. I ended the last three week in positive territory :

  1. Closed first week 215 green pips but I had 400 pip drawdown and i was obliged to swim in the red zone (trades not closed ) till the trend took really its direction and closed in profit.
  2. Closed second week in profit 822 pips . The trend went directly without any perturbation and I was in green zone directly. I closed it the second day and got a rest all the week
  3. Closed third week in profit 807 pips. The market went against the trend ( opened the trades at London opening ) and I got a 396 pip in red zone till it took back to the right direction next day. I closed the basket manually on the third day at 807 green pip.

Will see this week to where the wind will take the pips.
Best
Mo

The indicator is a trend following. Even there is a signal for trend reverse... The matter is to watch it carefully in order to take the right decision when you feel your self going against the trend and limit your loss.
Wait and see .

My basket is still open -245 pips.

Update on EA decelopment
Found the problem!!!! Lol
For certain timezones the EA calculates a negative GMT shift number that is beyond -11 lol so that is wrong!
If You are not in those zones then the EA calculates the correct GMT shift. That is why when I tested others brokers it would work on my machine.

We are in the process of getting more info and will have this solved very soon.

Hello all , it is quite obvious that stop loss 200pips is small for this strategy and doesnt give the basket enough room to breathe that is why I removed the trade explorer because I am currently forward testing 500pips stop loss with 500pips take profit. And I will be opening trades 1hour after London Open to avoid being stopped out too early..This is based on the assumption that we need to give the basket trade enough room to breath and I think that based on the useful statistics chart provided by Tivaa here http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...25#post9600025 it makes sense to forward test stop loss 500pips and take profit 500pips because if these settings were used , one could have made 1500 pips in the past 5 weeks..4wins(2000pips) -1 loss(500pips)=Net pips(1500)...These could possibly be the ideal stop loss and take profit for this strategy based on my personal opinion..But only time can tell..

From my looking at the current week, it looks like the down turn of most pairs is either over or oversold. And from the green in other dashboard, it shows a reversal of lower time frames up to 4H... So we are looking at a full pull back which cumulatively will be more than 200 pips or could hit even a stop loss of 500 pips if the trend is over.
In truth I did not get a single alert on the MTF Daily + Weekly last night which was a warning its over or great pull back so I'm looking to today's GMT +2. We are little retailers, so we aspire to trade almost every day. Big boys can monitor just to take a trade for 2 months and may take only 5 trades in 2 months, But because they can open 100 lots, it covers all the wait.

Hi Liovannix..Thank you for your contribution but you seem to be using a different version of CCFp-Diff indicator is that correct?

This is a reminder that trading is not an exact science..What works well for someone in trading might not work well for another person...Some may decide to set their stop losses for individual pairs in the basket based on ATR , support and resistance , fractals , parabolic , ADR etc and this makes sense in the technical sense..There is nothing wrong with forward testing the strategy with different stop loss levels and take profit..Matter of fact , I am forward testing ATR stop loss for individual currency pairs in the basket..I will share results at the end of the week...Till then lets stay green.

Thanks mfawaz, very useful, real time records. I think I'll keep giving this a go. If it works it'll be awesome for us busy full time wage slaves!
I have set this up according to the OP's original direction and have launched it, admittedly about 6 hours after the London open (!). I do have a few questions to ask, and please excuse me if I miss something obvious.
1. Could someone enlighten me why my open trades amount to positive pips yet the front dashboard shows negative pips? See image attached. (Apologies if I've attached it wrong)
2. Am I able to trade other strategies while this EA runs? Ie. can I change my profile to my other trading plan or does this one need to be open to continue working?

Thanks in advance

Experimenting with the CCFp-Diff_[v2.0] (the lower one set to 240M on the pic ) and CCFp-Diff_[v2.0]MTF (the upper one on the pic set to Daily and weekly)
I find trading is better when you use Multi Time Frame as there nothing standard in the defination of TREND but rather trend is defined on the bases of a higher time frame to the time frame you chose to trade. So I am a MTF trader

Both have been posted in the thread except I set my below MTF version internally to Daily and weekly so I dont need to do any setting every time I drop it on chart'

smahil:
The EA does that for you.
You just have to input the HOUR and DAY that the EA will start the trades.
Look at pg1 Rule 5 the basket starts on Monday at London open
London open is 08:00.

So in the inputs you place 08:00
and for _DayOfWeek_=Monday.

That's all.. u need to do. If u do change the time and day remember it's all GMT... nothing else.

So if i want to test if it is works and set the gmt input to 1min ahead of what the gmt say at the moment it should open the trades after 1min. But the trades do not open. i have the day set to today today.

I opened the orders yesterday at 18:00 GMT after creating a new demo account. after arriving at -110 pips today at 08:00 GMT I have about +120 pips
(I guess because I'm watching from the iPad). I do not know how it went in the night because the computer was switched off.
Version 18 (it works for me).
Hello
Green pips at all
