{quote} ecmoney: Use version 16 that will trigger trades I verified it. Thnx for testing the setProfitLock stuff. I will start testing this on Friday. I also plan to test the CLoseGMTHour that is hard coded into EA. Remember the idea behind the EA was to make it as simple as possible, just like the creators approach on pg1. Open x number of trades and wait till either 500 or -200 pips is hit to close basket. Otherwise if Friday comes along and basket is still open, close it 10 minutes before close of market. This is the reason you don't see all...

Indeed this strategy can get very profitable. This week the basket reached 400+. Unfortunately, I was able to lock just a small amount. I'm still confused about the large pips difference shown in the EA vs the real pips. Please see the picture. I had one basket close on me by the EA. Looks like a BE basket. At that time I used v11 I think. So thinking there was some money management issue, I used the EAX dashboard for money management. EAX locked a $10 basket. If you add the total amount of pips I get ~90 pips. However, the EA shows a negative 50...

I also tested version 16 (OANDA demo-account), and for me it works, orders are opened at the GMT Open hour, and the close-button works without .dll.

FYI CCFp indicator is a is a trend following indicator and so it helps us to stick to the rule of trend following and follow the trend.I believe this strategy will be very profitable in the long run. Weekly signals suggested by CCFp indicator, are considered more reliable, because they take into account price fluctuations of all currency pairs, and not only of the analyzed one.

First of all I would like to extend my gratitude to Xmess for voluntarily coding an EA to trade this strategy...But it will be nice to have other coders code their own EAs and share here so that we can test..A simple EA with basket stop loss , take profit , and lock profit to trade this strategy will be great..Lets not forget that variety is the spice of life..I will be looking forward to other EAs to trade this strategy..Thanks again Xmess for your valuable contribution to this thread.

Hello all,

I have a question about the CCFp-Diff V2.0 indicator, maybe FerruFx can answer this the best.

When i am working with daily time frame (1140), every day when the "bar-end-counter" is at zero the signals get refreshed and i see a set of new signals appear on the screen (also the level bars in the left lower corner adjust for the new situation for each currency).

My question is, when we are on the weekly time frame (10080) it seems that the signals also getting refreshed each day when the counter reaches zero.

Can you confirm that this is the case?

Thank for your help and green pips to all of you!

Piet

I have been contemplating on an idea that I think its worth brainstorming...This is an exit strategy...Lets say for example the CCFp indicator suggested to "SELL" EUR/USD last week Monday ,so we sold EUR/USD last week and this week it suggested to SELL EUR/USD again. How about we do not close last week EUR/USD position because this week we had the same suggestion to sell EUR/USD?And lets say , next week Monday CCFp indicator suggests to BUY EUR/USD ,so this is when we exit EUR/USD position..This I think will help us milk as many pips as we can until the trend reverses...In summary we EXIT when we have a reverse signal..Let me know what you think about this exit strategy and whether it is worth testing..Thank you all for your contributions to this thread..

What I know about the weekly signals suggested by CCfp indicator is that the weekly signals refreshes(new signals are generated) at the beginning of every week..

Hi Forexpinbar,

I like your idea, but...
If you don't close your trades on friday evening => you take the risk of your basket trades going way lower than maximum expected loss.
+ Since the strategy is based on opening trades on monday morning and closing on friday evening, we would need a complete rework of it. Maybe instead of looking for weekly signal to "keep" opened trade, we should have a look at potential setups on lower timeframes around end of day friday in order to decide whether or not to keep open for the week end.
And monday morning weekly signals would settle the case (either close the trade that was kept during the week end, or keep it for the coming week)

Have a good day,

Hello Jess,

Been playing with v16 and was unable to get it to work until I closed all open trades. It's as if the EA sees any open trade as being in it's basket. The open trades that I closed all came from an EA with a different magic number. Maybe the big red button, being linked to all open trades, has something to do with it?

Merylin: Awesome catch!! It turns out that this was the error:
StringFind(OrderComment(),"CCfp-Weekly_trade")>-1)
Should be
StringFind(OrderComment(),"CCfp-Weekly_trade")==-1)

Hello FXPB,

I do not believe that we should be trying to "milk as many pips as we can" out of every move, we should rather be concentrating on how many pips can we "guarantee" to make out of a move, bearing in mind that nothing is guaranteed in forex trading.

For argument's sake let us assume that 1 pip gain on 1 position (contract) = $10.
With 1 position, to make $1000 one would need to make 100 pips.
With 10 positions, to make $1000 one would need to make 10 pips.
Which would you prefer, trying to make 100 pips a day or 10 pips a day?

OK. so we are not in a position to be able to fund full lot positions at the moment but the same principle applies to mini and micro lots. Once we are able to regularly make 10 pips a day then we can start compounding our profits to grow our account. Once we are able to regularly make 10 pips a day then we can concentrate on protecting our 10 pips while looking for 20,30,40 or whatever that run will give us.

A long time ago when I had to work for a living I used to sell cars, started off selling Ford and ended up selling Rolls Royce. I earned an average stressful living by selling 10 Fords a month but I earned a very good relatively stress-free living by selling 1 Rolly Polly every 2 months.

I know which I preferred .

Than it woud be interesting to know how many +pips the basket gives every week (and -pips) to help us set sl/tp.
Is it possible to record max/min pips every week?

Yes it is possible to record both max and min pips. But for now I recommend u look at the weekly equity curves. That will tell you the same in terms of equity.
This is what I was eluding to. You get several weeks of max/min equity or pip count and then u can see the averages. That way u can determine which is the ideal profit to take per week. But then again, if u do what Pinbarforex did and just go through the motion you could also end up with the same profit run as is seen in the explorer.

Maybe. What I need from you are you Expert logs.
Please send me the log file in this folder MQL4/Logs
Once in there just grab one file, the one that has the date when you saw your USDCHF requote.
