Let me explain a bit the difference or better to ask why we should wait for the price to reach a certain level if there is already momentum enough to TP? Do you really think your trade/order becomes safer if it's a stop/limit order instead of a market order?

Just to avoid very strong bounce level's. Because sometimes the signal's come on a very strong resistance level from where we don't know if it will break or bounce.
By placing the pending order when the signal is available, in case there is a breakout of that resistance the order will be executed instant, without waiting for a NEW signal.

My question, what's the use for the spaghetti if you do not read it the right way or you do not understand it? At the end of such a move, most of the current momentum has gone and especially on the strong major currencies a small decrease is enough for as many pips to trigger your S/L. Hence, why don't you measure a certain level of the move if it's already strong enough for an entry?Is it really that hard to see and to understand the elementary things of our trading tools?

The trade was automatic, I am at home the trades get automatic executed in office.

I have warring this issue multiple times, that a maxim BS GAP should be measured, as a too much momentum. One of the reply answer.

"You don't need to measure a max. GAP but a min. GAP is mandatory! Secondly, keep in mind for counter trade the ratio should be at least 1:3 whereby -55:165 is not the same as -165:55 which is much better! Just to play a bit with numbers. The GAP of the countered part of a pair should be much more negative than the opposite part is positive."

I was referring to BS GAP as describe in you're trade comment , maybe you refereed to BS and from here the confusion, and this was the main reasons why this filter was totally removed from automatic trading.

Edit: Beside this too much momentum, it was still in green zone for LBAR, but that's just a separate filter.

Would you be so kind to explain more how it should work this filter...... Conclusion: There's a filter missing! Think about what kind of.

What did I show you in the screen above? A min. GAP or a max. GAP to measure? For the filter, you want to know about, just a hint: What's more important for your trading decision, the past status or the current?

BS: 4.39 (+/- 3.41)

The min is measured already by flexi, you describe a MAX BS GAP

To be clear about MTF gap's also.


BS GAP: 2.56 (+/- 0.45)

Why was not trigger early the trade, and waited until 2.56? Because not all filter where ready. For example APS: 2.93, AMS: 2.72

hello everyone, I`ve started to read and follow this thread one month ago with a lot of interest, I followed all the steps to connect the mt4 to excel but I`m a little bit confused and I would have 2 questions if u could help me please:
1) "getValues" sheet from the "Speedometer_v4c" seems to doesn`t update ( never, as you can see in the picture that I took it today for GBPJPY for example ) so now I`m wondering where from are updating the other sheets because it seems to be ok or are updating wrong. I was thinking that is updating from DWM excel but even that one is not updating properly ( as you can see in the picture that I`ve attached it, took it from today )

2) I would like to add smaller time frames like M1, M5, M15 before M30 for other tests but I`m going back to the first question because I don`t know where from are updating because in getValues sheet and DWM excel seems to be written like a text, so I have an idea that the C_speedometer module has to be modified ( all that paragraph which is starting with Sub testingSPEED()

I would really I appreciate your help and your advice, specially if it would come from the oldest members of this thread like Jibala, the Bourne or project13et, many many thanks in advance!

It seems the DDE connection is not working properly if nothing updates. Go to the mt4 installation folder and start the DDE-Sample.xls and see if it works and updates the values properly. You have to allow macros and third-party connections.

Hi Jibala, first of all a big thank you for your reply, the DDE its ticked and the Sample.xls its working too because I tested it ( I found on the internet a few days ago that this might be the issue )...the other sheets like Strenght, CRS, Gap Sync are updating but I don`t know where from ( and that`s why I`m afraid that are updating wrong )

With all the respect, but I want to understand what would be the filter for that trade. Because the you're statements are contradictory.

I attached 3 photos from you're exact entries log that you showed here (All GBP). This will show similar entries from you, like the one you comment GBPCHF.


1) Entry on the trade even if the Spaghetti movement start from the same point.
2) Entry in the trade on the exact Spaghetti level as me.
3) You're total travel distance is even bigger then mine.

The sheet 'getValues' only updates when the function 'prevStrength_2' runs. 'prevStrength_2' only runs when you go to sheet 'GAP_test' and click one of the two buttons. There is no issue with your DDE setup as everything else is working. Where do all the values come from? They are based on formulas that are based on other formulas that are based on other formulas. If you click on any cell, it'll reveal the logic used in the toolbar. The only items that dynamically update are the High, Low, Bid and Ask.

My advice is to reverse engineer the spread sheet so you understand what it's doing before even thinking about modifications, let alone trading. Shouts, praises and Godspeed to the great dtlase, but the spreadsheet is a bit raw. It's a great starting point for beginners to understand Gap Theory but lacks a few essentials like error trapping.

Thank you very very much for your reply, definitely it helped me, I just have tried...( I know that the formulas are based on other formulas and so on because I had a look and I started to build`em back like you said, but I was confused because the high, low, ask and bid didn`t update )...thank you once again and have nice day/evening!
