Dollar once again is outruned by a weak Euro. Until EU breaks past. 0.850 bears still runs this pair.

Just taken a short at 1.07799.

Looking to squeeze a few pips out of this pair and close before the weekend.

It's been a very up and down week for me. Some really good profits made (on the back of lengthy chart analysis), almost entirely wiped out by stupid emotional scalping trades.

A few lessons learnt, however.

Thats how I feel.. low votilaty + ranging makes it hard to predict movement. Although chart is set to show run up to 0850 but we stat at .0720-0770 most of this week.

My longer term chat shows a move to the 1.087x area.

No gas up to .0800.... thats just sad, back into this range... this eu... I rather brexit fails and drop super low or Trump make some speech and sky rocket eu up..

she starts her free fall now there is no reasonable blockage until 1.064x. All that NFP crap BS clear stop hunt let see what they last hours will play out

Will it touch 08xx next week or will it continue to fall to 065?

And how about this evening US time Market Close? Can we expect to close at 079? Please advice.

Im astounded by the counter-intuitive move, which is yet to finish up for the week. I lost money because I took a trade honoring the upbeat nfp data. Why would the euro gain more strength in this instance? Apparently I have to let price guide and not look at the data. On the other hand I think its clear that the news release was the catalyst for the move so that its effects are apparent but reverse and which would refute the above statement on indifference of news. That led me to speculate that perhaps the positive nfp was broadly expected because of wage growth and such precursory data and the price was actually already adjusted to that. When the breakout happened the dollar weakening scenario was already played out because anticipation unwinded. Furthermore today's data is not decisive because fomc is set to meet in march so rate hikes are not going to materialize atleast for another month.

So what kind of strategy should I use to tackle these kind of situations?

Seems like the market is always ranging - if trending in one timeframe, can probably increase/reduce the timeframe to find a larger/smaller oscillating price range.

I find it difficult to predict the start and end of trends, but easier to collect small crumbs close to pivot points where significant amount of entry/exit takes place.

You do not need neither start nor end , just decent part of the midle .

There is no news only the cycle.
After seven years discovering, documenting the sequences of the cycle and plotting it forward. It's become very clear these news events either don't effect the outcome, or the past and future are simultaneous and tomorrows news is already in the chart... It's a total paradox

Simply put, the market conforms to a pattern, we know what the pattern is. The reaction points at the apexes of the pattern all magically line up with the news, or vize versa. When it moves people say it was the news, but the people who know the pattern know that it was already going there. I've mastered the projection game, and in seven years I've never seen news break price out of an existing wave structure.

If you can plot the sequence forward, add 30 pip safety zone around news time or pattern apex areas. As the most you see is 30 pip wobble just inside or outside these zones. They usually confined to the sub waves on lower time frames.

This is the day when when this became clear to me:
