Hello, Vasalahaimer! There is no such a company like Alpari Russian. Alpari is an international brand which includes several companies. Any of them would be fine for Ireland residents. If one of the companies goes bankrupt, other companies won't be affected.

Hello Alpari , i first want to thank you for the demo contest that you're running even if the prizes aren't huge compared to the contest length , but i have a question aabout the prizes , do the winners really have to wait for 60 days to receive their prizes ? trading for more than two months to be among the winners and then wait for another two months to receive the prizes is alittle bit too much except this point the contest is a great way to learn how to be a daytrader especially for the drawdown point .

Actually, 60 days is a formal period, winners never wait so long to get their prizes. Prizes are usually paid within 10 days since the tour ends.
Thanks for your fast reply , we will see if we get the prizes this week .

Hi - well this thread originally focused on the Alpari UK Ltd insolvency in January 2015, and the subsequent claims process. Just to say that after 2 years and 10 months of persistent pushing, I finally got full repayment of my claimed amount. Not that I wouldn't have been paid at some point without pushing. Just that I would have no idea when that would have been.

My main problem was that my funding account was a US one and doesn't have a Swift code. Shouldn't have been a problem but FSCS acting on my behalf had designed its automated payout system to operate only on Swifts. Even that shouldn't have been a problem (meant manual payments would be necessary), but...it shoved me to the back of the queue and made me invisible. Finally I found a way of applying pressure and it worked. But the number of people I dealt with......the inconsistent replies......the number of emails.....the number of phonecalls.

I know there were many people with sub-50 dollar accounts who were not compensated. But believe me, I would have gladly conceded that amount rather than go through what I did. There was a side-benefit though for me - I now know a lot about what happens during an insolvency including how segregated accounts really work, and what the real risks are. Make no mistake, no matter what you hear, they do work....with companies that are in the FCA and....comply with the regulations. Alpari UK did comply. And FCA have even toughened up so that loopholes that could have been exploited by less scrupulous FCA-registered forex companies were closed. Of course there will always be risks in this game no matter how well regulated. But I'd still put money in an FCA-registered company in the UK ahead of most other countries.

Just my view which I wanted to share in case it has some value for others.
Just found this thread. I thought never to do any more research on Alpari when some said their money was not paid when it got burst in January 2015. I went for a seminar organized by a broker,Hot Forex and I asked the question that "If your money or other brokers' is kept in a segregated account, why was Alpari not able to pay its clients since 2015?" Surprisingly, from among us the attendees, one trader stood up and said "Alpari has paid his money". That inflamed my desire again for Alpari. Great to find the thread here.

Well more accurately, Alpari abided by FCA regulations regarding client funds in segregated accounts. That meant that all client funds except for a relatively small amount in actual trades at the time it crashed were in the collective client segregated account. The payout was actually by KPMG acting as the insolvency administrator. Had Alpari not been abiding by the regulations e.g. not quickly placing client funds back in the segregated fund immediately after trades are closed, or simply not putting it all back for other reasons, then the segregated account of course could have been a lot less than it should, and the payout to clients would also have been a lot less. So that's why it's important to research as far as possible the "ïntegrity" of the forex company and to make sure it is regulated by a competent body like the UK"s FCA. I don't know anything about the new Alpari, but the first thing I would do is check who regulates it and whether it has infringed any of the regulations. That information is available from the FCA (if Alpari is registered with FCA).

Hi Khan,

their only responsibility acording to MiFiDII regulation is to execute your SL order at best price available. And as you may know, the best price available to execute your SL order was exactly as you say "way far from your stop loss". So they did not break the law nor don't have to take any responsibility.
Aside of the all-too-well-known Swiss crash....

Ever since the current Alapri.com (which I presume is the one for this thread....right?)....has anyone had any trouble withdrawing their funds from Alpari.com?
