Hello All, I've been trading for some time and over the years created many "Templates" as I'm sure many others have done. The problem is once a template is placed on a chart there is no way to identify what template was used. I think it would be tremendously helpful if there was a "Template Indicator" of some kind that could show up somewhere, perhaps a lower indicator window, that identifies the name of the template that was used. I'm not a coder but I have to believe that there must be some way to do it. Any one else have a comment?

As far as I know, there is no way to know the currently applied template on a chart because mt4 does not save the template file name in the chart information.
Once a template is applied to a chart, the indicators information, chart colors, styles, EA name and settings .... etc are copied from the template file to the chart file.
After the template is applied you can change any of these components and they are not related to the template, so if you want to keep you changes you'll need to save them again into the same template (overwrite) or into a new template. Accordingly, the relation between the Chart and Template is lost after the template is applied to the chart.

My suggestion is to add a text label having the name of the template on the chart and save it as part of the template, so whenever you apply the template to a chart this text label will also be applied to the chart showing the template name.

Hey Abokwaik...Since the market is ranging most of the time I was thinking we can take advantage of this and trade breakouts..Trading breakouts will be less stressful if an indicator exists that can scan very tight consolidations for all currency pairs and time frames using the bollinger bands(bollinger bands squeeze)..With the height of the consolidation zone and number of bars in the consolidation zone being customizable , we can change the height of the consolidation area into the pips amount we desire and change the number of bars in the consolidation as we desire so that the indicator can scan all currency pairs that meet our desired bollinger squeeze(consolidation zone) and display them on our charts for further analysis and trading.If possible the indicator should also display the possible risk reward ratio of the breakout.More like a BB squeeze scanner for all 28 currency pairs.

For example , the bollinger squueze in the screenshot contains 39bars and height of consolidation is 13 pips for illustration purposes..The above mentioned indicator should be able to scan all timeframes and currency pairs and display only currency pairs that are in a BB Squeeze based on our specified cosolidation zone parameters and display the range bound currency pairs on our charts for better viewing and analysis to trade the breakouts using our breakout methods..

I hope you consider my suggestion to be worthy..God bless you and keep up the good work you do here on FF.

I tried something similar on number of bars and range in Trap Breaker. I don'r know if adding BB would make a big difference .

hello abokwaik, i hope you are not to busy, i would like to know if it is possible to add an option on the default mt4 commodity channel index.
Basically lets say, on a 14 period of the commodity channel index, if i add a value of 100.50 for example, the indicator will highlight all the bars which have exact value of 100.50 and -100.50. Thank you.

P.s : The commodity channel index is different than cci.

Hey abokwaik, What i do is i put the commodity channel index period 10 on mathtrader renko chart , then i wait for the indicator to reach its extreme (194.4444 and - 194.4444) then i know a reversal is coming soon. here are a few charts for you to see what i mean.

it doesnt work every time, but it signals that a reversal is coming...

Thats it. It may not be the best system but i think there is merit to it.
The request i made in post 89 is to help me to detect all the candles where i put the yellow lines without shifting through it manually.
Basically if i enter a value which could be anything (in the charts above it will be 194.4444 and - 194.4444) the indicator has to find all the candles which have exactly this value. Its about adding just this option to the indicator. Thanks and i hope the charts above help.

CCI is the editable version of the commodity channel index indicator.
What CCI missing is the Price Type which can be added to CCI.

In you attached image CCI uses the default price type "Typical Price (HLC/3)" while the commodity channel index indicator uses another price type.
If you set the commodity channel index indicator to use the "Typical Price (HLC/3)" price type , they will both be identical, see attached image, upper window is the commodity channel index while the lower window is the CCI indicator.

Now how would you like to highlight the bars with CCI values equal to input values , by arrows ? or other means ?

Oh ok i see, now i understand, one is set on close, and the other on hlc/3, now it makes sense. The one i need should be set on close and to highlight bars with cci values equal to input values, arrows would be perfect. Thanks again.

This way very few (if any) signals will appear ...
Anyway, here is the updated version, which will show signal only if rounded indicator value is EQUAL to the selected level.
