This thread is going to be my custom indicators repository on FF.
I will develop indicators based on my ideas and ideas from other FF members.

Indicators should be new, never developed before, and preferably not dependent on other indicators.
It would be nice if the requester describes the planned indicator usage.

The thread will be restricted to MT4 indicators. Robots are not allowed in this lab.
Please, No modification requests on other people indicators.

As indicator requests grow, I will add them to a poll on the thread, and start with the highest votes.
Indicators that stay over a week in the poll with less that 2 votes will be deleted.

Can I propose an indicator that I've been missing when testing EAs using some charts in same MT?

Indicator should show a table on chart with Max DD reached by each pair or magic number (choose in input) in that account.

- corner and X / Y inputs would be nice
- day and hour to start monitor, too (so old tests don't enter)

Of course if it already exists point me there

Thank you!

For a by pair, I think we can modify the iExposure indicator and add max draw down and max return there (% or amount).
A similar approach can be done for Magic Numbers, but more complicated.

Of course info will be shown while trades are still open, and will be lost after trade(s) are closed.

Is this close to your request kilion ?

PS: iExposure appears in a sub-window.

Hi Abokwaik,
I really appreciate if you could help to create the Moving Median Band with VERTICAL SHIFT OPTION
This indicator computes the median of odd span. The median is described as the numerical value separating the higher half of a sample, or a probability distribution, from the lower half.
I upload the picture, hopefully you can quickly know what I mean!
P.S: I did search but seem no where it could be found

Thanks
Nth

I was more thinking of Tradereport:

But of course it's not necessary all those columns and fancy graphics, just:

Magic____ Max DD____ Closed profit
1_______ -234_______ 78
2_______ -52________ 256
3_______ -673_______ 35

But you lost me at "info will be shown while trades are still open, and will be lost after trade(s) are closed".
The idea is to register what was the maximum negative sum value of open trades reached for each Magic number or pair, since the time that the indicator is working (or since the time chosen input).
So, let's say that you're testing 10 instances of a EA with different settings, all at same pair to find what settings work better.
In the end of 1 week or 1 month you know exactly how well each set file resulted concerning max DD.

I hope that I managed to explain it better.

Hi Abokwail

I may have spoken to you about this several weeks ago.
I don't think it's been suggested before, so it is very new.
What I need is an indicator that put two lines on the chart to tell me what the top price and the bottom prices from the tick box is .This indicator helps me to understand whether the market is being compressed or stretched. I hope this indicator can be made once again you impress me with your willingness to help others.
see picture

These two lines will move up and down and mirror the tick box top and bottom price as they move up and down .

Thank you.

Hello Abokwaik,

What a lovely thread
If it pleases you, I would like to interest you in two indicators based on Chuvashov's work, the fork and the triangle.
The fork idea can be found here and the triangle idea could be found here.

If you choose to create them and need more information, please let me know.

Thanks.

Can't this be achieved by simply adding 2 MAs, one on highs and one on the lows with 5 levels on each ?
Am I missing something here ?

I thought you were referring to status of open trades, not closed ones. Because I am working on a similar concept on open trades in order to select the best moment to close a basket of trades.

Anyway, what you want is a trade report From Date to Date, grouped by either Pair or Expert Magic Number, showing Max DD amount and Closed Profit Amount.
I don't think that can be easily done.
In order to do that, the indicator will have to exactly simulate the trading history, which is not an easy job.

I think Quant Analyzer (of StrategyQuant) provides this.

The levels are based on the distance between the MA high and the MA low ... It's dynamic so it can be done by coding only.

Hi Abokwaik,
I did use 2 SMA (Simple arithmetic average) and it seem not good enough as it is affected too much by some "abnormal" wick of the candle!! "the outlier". I believe the median will help as it separates the data into two sets of equal size: the small values and the large values. The median is good to get "a better mean" because it is robust to outliers.

By using the Moving Median Band as benchmark, It can help visually and more accurately compare how Far and how fast the Previous UP vibrant with Current Up vibrant, Previous Down vibrant with Current Down Vibrant, and the most current UP and Down, With those 03 comparison, the Bias can be formed. Ofcourse, use it alone is not enough "for me", It still need Price action and watching several pair for confirm and timing the entry.

I hope you could find the time for coding Moving Median Band and I really appreciate your help.

Thanks
Nth

P.S I know, Forex price data is not symetrical!
