I would add that you can show someone exactly how you trade, but they will adopt their own approach. No two people trade identically.
All trading is, basically, is predicting where price is heading for whatever period of time suits.

Factors to consider are a combination of risk vs reward and probability.

I love your story Clive. Very moving. I'd private message you, however due to my status this is not available to me. One thing I cannot get my head around is why you would want to share this information with people you don't know? I've been busy coding MQL4 for 2 years now. I've been a programmer since 1999 and got into Forex around 2 years ago. I can solve problems and whilst this seemed easy at first, I can without a doubt say this has been the toughest challenge of my life. It's been very hard work and with that in mind... why did you freely...

Exactly for the reason you stated above, its very hard work, especially on your own but as they say , "A problem shared is a problem halved" and I gotta say that is very true in trading as by its very nature its a lonely game at times. So starting this thread and sharing has helped me enormously with so many other traders helping me along my way so now its my turn to help others in anyway I can...

Hey Bernardi

This reply is in regard to a MA_in_Color Indicator with an alert on color change.

I don't have it yet but I do have something you can check out if you want to.

Here is a chart with the MA_in_Color Indicator 10 LWMA on it and the signal arrows are on there using this Indicator by Lazy Trader

But I don't need to learn. And I don't need others. I've done this all by myself and its definitely something I do not wish to share.... certainly not at this stage in my life. I need to (and will) make money first.

This forum intrigues me though.... I am drawn to it because I am seeking kindred spirits. I feel nobody understand me.

Thank you, but i already found what i need. I replaced the MA line with MA coloured candles with an alarm and arrows (dots actually xD). I used the indicator from BBalazs a few posts earlier, strategy is still the same, just a visual difference. Looks better to me:

A misunderstanding.... I definitely do not know everything and I know I can learn a lot from others. You were born with two ears and one mouth and should use them accordingly.

However this one particular thing I am extremely confident with. And by not listening to others I've created my own unique system.

And until I have achieved what I want to achieve I do not want the opinion of others dragging me down... "not possible, won't work, etc" heard it all before. Negative nonsense.

Hello to all,
for those who use the ttindy what 'is the best setting to capture the trend?
I tried: 1min 35 LWMA 5 min 35 LWMA but often is delayed. Now I'm trying
10 LWMA 1 min 50 LWMA 1min and does not look bad, but I can never catch the beginning of the trend and then locate the pullback.
thanks in advance

Just recorded another London open session and did a bit better this time so will post video here for all to enjoy....

Inserted Video

For some reason its starting halfway through so reset it to the start or you will miss all the fun..

I'm afraid my presentation skills need developing and my performance wasn't brilliant either but you will get the idea plus it will get better as I get use to the added pressure of recording a session as I intend to record as many sessions as I can going forward..Hope it helps.

If you are interested in my latest template please find attached below and also the trade manager I use kindly coded by Tristan, many thanks Tristan...

Good luck and God bless....

hi Pete

You sound like an interesting guy with an interesting outlook on trading and life in general I suspect...

I too decided to do my own thing in the end ignoring anyone telling me how important higher tmeframes are even when trading the 1 minute timeframe etc etc

But to be honest you can learn a lot from other experienced traders who have been down the same path that you are treading right now, I learnt a lot from a lotta guys on this thread Divergence (Harold) , Vantage, Mike, and one particular trader who lives in my town who has personally mentored me from the start.

So although I can see where you are coming from and I admire you for your resolve and belief in yourself to crack this game, I would just suggest that a trading room with like minded individuals, that have all traveled the same route , might just help speed up the process....

But hey Ho its a free world and you have a choice so just to finish off this post on a positive note heres another poem that I think you might like...

its one of my favourites...

"It Couldn’t Be Done"

Somebody said that it couldn’t be done,

But, he with a chuckle replied

That "maybe it couldn’t," but he would be one

Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.

So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin

On his face. If he worried he hid it.

He started to sing as he tackled the thing

That couldn’t be done, and he did it.

Somebody scoffed: "Oh, you’ll never do that;

At least no one has done it";

But he took off his coat and he took off his hat,

And the first thing we knew he’d begun it.

With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,

Without any doubting or quiddit,

He started to sing as he tackled the thing

That couldn’t be done, and he did it.

There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,

There are thousands to prophesy failure;

There are thousands to point out to you one by one,

The dangers that wait to assail you.

But just buckle it in with a bit of a grin,

Just take off your coat and go to it;

Just start to sing as you tackle the thing

That "couldn’t be done," and you’ll do it.

Good luck on your journey Pete may the force be with you....

Thank you Clive!

I am drawn to the idea of talking to other traders and I'm sure I could learn. Plus anything I can learn I can automate and backtest.

However I originally decided that the only way to crack this is with a different approach to everyone else and no outside influences to distort my way of thinking. This has I believe pushed me to think differently. Example: around 12 months ago I 'invented' grid trading. Of course it already existed but I had no idea and to me it was innovative (it was a strange feeling - I was not sure whether to feel dumb for inventing something which already existed or pleased I created something by myself).

I've failed a lot. And with each failure I have analysed and resolved the problem. Each failure has been valuable - you don't learn anything from trades that go to plan.

My system does not use any indicators. I have found a way of dynamically creating S&R zones and my robot trades within these boundaries.

I'm going to watch our video now - looking forward to it - thank you!

Its a funny thing but I started my journey in this game many years ago after attending a 2 day Options course in a hotel, think it was at Minehead run by a certain Mr Peter Hall, no axe to grind with him, not saying you are him either, all I want to say, that you have my vote on your thoughts and approach to the subject in question so good luck

In Regard to the MA_in_Color Indicator.

Does anyone know what values trigger the color changes?

Green to Yellow

Yellow to red

Red to yellow?

Thanks

I think I might be over complicating it???? Its moving up when the 35 LWMA is green and its moving down when the 35 LWMA is red. {image} The old proverbial buy wave bottoms in an uptrend sell wave tops in a downtrend... Use the CCI to identify the wave tops and bottoms for you... Best place to buy or sell is just after a slope change, try to buy/sell the first two CCI signals only and hold on the slope changes.. Works on any timeframe you want to trade...

Is it last version of method right ?
Can you please share LWMA colored ? (Or your template )

heres a quick video explaining how I use the trade manager and Trend Hinter Indicator...hope it helps.

Inserted Video

I will be posting some live trading sessions soon to show how I use them both in real time...

hope it helps....

WARNING : THE VERSION OF TRADE MANAGER HERE IS FLAWED AS WHEN YOU DRAG AND DROP A SYMBOL FROM MARKET WATCH BOX TO CHANGE THE SYMBOL IT STILL TAKES TRADES FROM THE ORIGINAL SYMBOL IT WAS ON. SO IF YOU HAD DAX UP AND DRAGGED AND DROPPED DOW ON THE CHART TO CHANGE IT TO DOW IT WILL APPEAR TO DO NOTHING WHEN YOU HIT A BUY OR SELL BUTTON. HOWEVER IT WILL BE TRADING THE DAX CHART AND NOT THE DOW SO OPENING DAX TRADES WITHOUT YOU BEING AWARE.

IF YOU HIT THE BUY OR SELL BUTTON AND NOTHING APPEARS TO HAPPEN EG NO TRADES APPEAR ON YOUR CHART THEN QUICKLY CHECK YOUR ACCOUNT TO MAKE SURE NO OTHER TRADES HAVE BEEN ACTIVATED.
