Time to check what the weekly candles are saying. AUDNZD closed with strong bullish candle right on the billinger middle band. This type of candle breaks the middle band. It was able to close with long lower shadow. There is already a resistance breakout on the daily.

This agrees with the potentially bullish AUDNZD analysis here from today:

The outflows have been motivated by the hunt for yield outside of China and the prospect of further rate hikes from the Fed. In the near term however, the reversal in the currency helps to brighten the outlook for Australia and New Zealand’s economy. While AUD and NZD had a good start this year, the momentum could be waning as key resistance levels lie above. With that in mind, Australian data has been fairly good (both of the December PMI reports surprised to the upside) and the trade deficit unexpectedly turned to surplus in November. This contrasts with a continued decline in dairy prices in New Zealand. Australian retail sales is the only piece of data scheduled for release from either country next week and another strong report could help AUD/NZD close above 1.05 or the first time in more than a month.

Great system by the way for the longer term trends. I will be following with interest!

I agree with the above. Posting on a public forum keeps you focused and accountable. Accountable not to the people on the forum, but to yourself. Deep down you don't want to disappoint 'them' (other people on the forum) and also you don't want to disappoint yourself. If you put your trading decisions out in public for everyone to see, then you are more apt to follow them. Additionally you can go back in time and see your thoughts and analysis on the day you posted, and do an analysis of what you thought at the time, and if it was correct for the trading conditions ... and what you would have done differently.

As an aside question ... how is post 5 Nov 27, then post 6 Nov 26, then post 7 Nov 29?

Can you time travel ??? :-)

Or did you have a post open and saved, then submit later? Just wondering ...

Market conditions change, so fixing your self to any one timeframe is probably not a good idea. The 'Master Trader' has many trading strategies running at one time. These can be automated, manual, or a combination of both.

Strategies can be for single timeframe (Monthly, Weekly, Daily, 4HR, 1HR, 30M, 15M, 5M, 1M, seconds (or fraction of any timeframe), or multiple timeframes (any combination previously stated).

Strategies can be trend (single pair or basket) or range (single pair or cointegrated pairs), across timeframes stated above, can be statistical arbitrage, seasonality patterns, fundamental trades, etc.

Anyway, my point is there is a vast trade space of timeframes and strategies. The market is ever changing, so it would be prudent not to count on one strategy.

I like your thread and trading ideas though. I have been trading a while and know many styles/strategies/systems, and this is one I have not come across yet, but will incorporate into my current systems.

Thank you very much. What you said is a reminder of what I have been doing here. Just as I have said profitable traders have many strategies. For instance if you trade S/R breakout, you may also follow retracement with Fibonacci, You may sometimes either take new position or hold on the already running position using Stochastic Oscillator on either Overbought or Oversold region. About time frames I trade long time frames ( Daily, Weekly and Monthly ). I have been sharing the three time frames where and when necessary. I appreciate your contributions.

You're welcome. I will be following your comments with interest also. I love your fundamental analyses. Fed is the only Central Bank that talks of Interest Rate hike. Swiss National Bank and Bank of Japan have even cut their rate into negative zone. They help to earn positive swap is we're able to short any of them. I have been bullish on NZDJPY and the positive swap is encouraging.

It would be wiser if you can give us some charts, not just one chart. I have known how to get in earlier with 4hrs when Bollinger Bands Squeeze is formed and we are waiting for breakout.

Bollinger Band Squesze is being formed now on EURJPY after a long strong movement. We already have support resistance on the lower time frames where we can get early entry. Any breakout on the 4hrs gives us opportunity to enter. Usually Bollinger Band Squeeze breakout follows the previous direction. In this case bullish direction.

The bulls are too much in control on the weekly chart. Also the Bollinger upper and the lower band are too far away. The bears cannot easily take over, except there is a strong fundamentals and a strong game changer.

I decided to check the of direction of Stochastic Oscillator on 4hr. You would observe that Stochs is already going overbought region. If it can break the resistance while Stochs is overbought we might know the direction of the movement

Another way to trade this breakout is when the first candle comfortably closed either below the lower or upper bands on the daily chart.

After going through all the charts I observe that all JPY are forming Bollinger Band squeeze following the the strong move. Traders, for fear of loosing their good profits they have made, are collecting their profits. They would certainly resume and enter again. That's the reason bollinger band squeeze breakout more often follow the same direction it has previously been following.
