Christmas UPDATE:

OK, thanks for being patient...I have been testing, refining, tweaking and even teaching myself how to code this past week trying to ensure that what I release is the best it can be, but alas, with my programmer on holidays, I am unable to finalise the important changes that are necessary.

The indicator itself is giving wonderful signals, and I have been achieving a win rate of around 85-90% of trades, which is amazing, but there are also bad signals which I am trying hard to filter out. It is easy for me to visually see which are good and which are bad and trade accordingly, but I can't rest assured that you will have the same results as I am enjoying. So sorry to say there will be a further delay until I am fully satisfied. NO XMAS PRESENTS

Regardless of this disappointment, I wish to offer my sincere best wishes to everyone who has subscribed and especially to those who have contributed in some way, whether by posting a screen-shot, offering a supportive comment, sending me a PM, pointing out an error in a formula and so on. It is YOUR input that gives this thread value, and it is only through the sharing of our combined experience and wisdom that we will become successful.

I will be taking a break now and will return to the screens toward the end of the first week in January. You are assured that as soon as I return I will be hard at work with my programmer ensuring that we are ready to release STAGE 1. I am very excited about the release date, and I am excited also about sharing in your success throughout the coming year.

So take a nice break and enjoy your time over Christmas and the New Year.

kirk, are you going to program an EA for it? An EA would be great! then we can use it on many pairs at once.

And yes, even with manual trading the indicator alone i also think the win rate is about 80%.

I dont really set any TP.

I enter trades when the threads become ropes, leave the PC on, and come back 4 - 6 hours later to close trade.

G'day there...yeah I don't see a problem with setting up an EA eventually. All of the signals are based on logical conditions, including exits and so on, so it should be doable.

Hey mate,

Attached is a screenshot of EURUSD H1 chart recently.

The yellow rectangled highlights are bad signals. The stochs are fanned out wide apart, indicative of indecision, which can be easily seen when examining price action for the same period.

The next blue vertical line after the 2nd yellow highlight is a good signal, and shows that when stochs start to form agreement on direction, the market makes it's move.

The magenta line along the bottom of the indicator window is a trial version of a "ROPE threshold" addition to the standard indicator. When it is above a certain threshold, the threads are fanned apart, and when it goes below the threshold they are converging together. In this instance the good signal coincides with a low ROPE threshold.

My challenge is how to filter out inappropriate signals like the ones shown in the pic, but when I introduce the ROPE threshold logic into the code it is not working correctly...I need my programmer back!

Kirk,
I really suggest that you rethink your strategy.

You dd not need several time frames to confirm a trade...only 2 or 3, if you are using MTF indicators,,,then making an EA to provide you with some entry signals becomes much more proficient. Simple is best. Best of luck to you

Hi hharrington,

First of all, please don't take offense to this but by posting a different system and your last post you're violating Kirk's 1st rule which is mentioned in his first post:

1) Respect:

This system has been designed over countless hours, as previously mentioned. The indicators that are utilised in the strategy do the job well enough to not require further tampering, and there is certainly no need to introduce new ones.

Just like the old saying goes, Why fix it if it ain't broke? So please do not post additional indicators or try to add, modify or change the strategy in any way. Doing so is an insult to the sheer amount of time and energy I have placed in getting to this point. Instead lets just focus on learning the strategy that is presented, share our results and screen-shots from successful trades, and help each other get the most out of the experience, focusing on what is already freely available and not getting distracted.

Having said all that however, if you honestly feel that there is a "bug" in the system somewhere, I am open to you sending me a PM and I will investigate. If I deem your suggestion will enhance the indicator or strategy in some way, I will work on it and post an update.

Second thing, you just posted a screenshot of a system without any explanation even if it's a self explanatory, I do understand what you're trying to present because I use MTF stoch but others might not. However, if you're intending to explain it and post your indicators/template then kindly start your own thread and do it there out of respect for the thread Author and subscribers.

Third thing, please allow me to correct you in regards to Kirk's method, he is not using a MTF sotch and if you re-read his posts it's very clear that he's using a one time frame stochs with different settings based on Spud's method.

Last thing, once again please don't be offended and have a great day.

Thankyou DreamwalkeR, this a good reminder to everyone reading / subscribing to this thread.

I have ignored the member who posted their own method / screenshot and they will be unable to post here again.

I will happily do this again as a matter of course - the rules are there to be read and followed. Distraction and loss of focus are not welcome here and are nothing if not counterproductive.

In short, if you don't like the strategy, then kindly look elsewhere for what you are after. My strategy is sound and does not require intervention.

To set this up we need a 1H chart and 18 stochastic %K lines from 6 to 24...so 6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24 all in one indicator window. (So each stoch is 6,3,3; 7,3,3 and so on)

Colour 6 to 13 thin blue - these are our lower time frame stochastcis and will be called LTFS (Lower Time Frame Stochastics).

Colour 14 thick red - 14 plays an important role and you'll probably see why I switched to 14,3,3 after you see this. This is our Base Stochastic and is called naturally the BS line. So when it let's us done we can say, "That dang BS line messed me up!" with all honesty.

Colour 15-24 are thin red lines and are called HTFS (Higher Time Frame Stochastics)

Just in case you are wondering, this is MTF stochastics it is just not using different price charts but different stochastic periods.

What you should have is a nice rainbow on your chart like the one below.
