Thank you MasterJedi! I am going to be finger ready! I don't necessary have to hold until the event. If I need to take the loss, I will. Sometimes I chicken out and take a 5-10pips profit even though the initial plan was for a much bigger profit. So let's see

Yea. Chances are you won't be able to either close the position or take profit on or within a few seconds of a major news movement. At least have a trailing stop and a stop loss... even if its a large stop loss it will save your account if you can't close your position manually. When I started news trading I straddle traded the NFP with no SL or TP.. the thing took my pending and preceded to hurtle my account away. Every time I tried to close I got a re-quote: "can't close at that do you want to close at this?" by the time I clicked yes it had moved and I got another re-quote... nearly lost my whole account.
