Yup and he has shown so far to completely back track from almost all of the outrageous political campaigning statements he has made. He may pressure her if the economy starts to unravel but right now it is doing ok. Especially compared to most other places.

Slow momentum thru London open, but 4HR candles held nicely above yesterday's high before squeezing up to 115.

New setup below 115 right at U.S. (equity) open, 3.5 hours left in current candle.

Is it normal, or expected, that some or most of the pre-election banter is considered as just that ... practised vitriol.

From an outsider's view there doesn't seem much wrong with Yellen's performance thus far.

While that is true about pre-election banter "Trumpie The Apprentice" took BS speeches to a whole other level which was both hysterically ridiculous and sad that worked while saying he was not a (wink, wink) politician. But on election day he won only because of having an opponent (Clinton) who was disliked even more than him. No other main reason.

As for Yellen she is doing what Fed presidents always do. Do the best considering all the factors working against them - especially what the politicians in government do to screw up the private sector.

4HR close thru 115, four hours to go in the week. Can add another position, but possible market retraces to 115 next week.

Zero chance of no rate increase.

But what might shake things up a bit (but also highly unlikely) is a 1/2 point increase instead of the expected 1/4 point. Because the bond markets are way ahead of the fed and they need to do some catching up. Now that the election is out of the way they can. Maybe they wait for the next meeting and ... maybe they don't.

Does anyone else feel like the rate rise will be a non-event and a big case of buy the rumour sell the fact? I am picturing a fall in this pair shortly after this rate hike - maybe on Friday or maybe the week following. Not a huge fall, but a decent correction.

My guess is short. At least a retracement. Daily pivot sits just below the 61fibo so might head in that direction. Plus its been overbought for days. Will see if it breaks support at 115.050 first.

I see that too...everything points to over bought and i think from Thursday it will start to sell, BOJ meeting is on the 19th and it has sold for the last ten meetings.

As it looks like, this will break 118 before retracing. I closed my long friday hoping for a retracement but i'll get in on it again tomorrow since the boat is shipping off
