Anyone experienced anymore slippage? I just opened an account but hasn't fund yet..

Are you all having the discounted $5.50 commission rate too?

So wait ... you've never traded with any of these brokers but you're saying they are the best and recommending them to everyone?

Of course ECN's with low minimums/micro lots bundle small orders together before sending them to LP - this doesn't mean they are a market maker - your order is still getting sent to an LP. Slippage is due to being an ECN broker ... not because they are not. Having said that I barely ever got positive slippage at IC which is why I 'made the switch'.

To be honest, your post is very likely to be the best one in this forum. Or even the whole internet. But you said that real ECN brokers require large deposits and I agree very much with that, but may I ask, what do you think of Pepperstone?

Very bad Broker.

Numerous times small slippage.

Had huge slippage ( 20 pips ) yesterday. Like this some months back huge slippage too.

I am moving out of this nasty so called ECN broker.
Intraday only.

I was talking to IC Markets they mentioned that cTrader offers a slippage control ? Anyone use cTrader to manage slippage ?

What was your ping to there server out if curiosity mine is 250ish

Ctrader as a stop limit order that allows trader to control slippage.
Try google stop limit, stop, limit order. You will understand adavantages of these orders

Hello Pipcruiser,

Well i read you had Grey Hairs from icm slippage well i have it even worse i don't even have hairs at all because of it.
Got totally crazy from it; often slippage when i OPEN a trade AND when i CLOSE a trade at ICM so it counts double.
This resulted in a difference in result in Double digits in % of my result the first 6 months this year.
I compare it with Pepper and looking now for a broker to replace ICM since i like to spread between 2 or 3 brokers just
in case something like feb 2015 happens again.
ICM is a real pain when there is little liquidity then 2 or 3 full point slippage is very common.

Anyway i tried to send you a private message since i was wondering if you have found a good broker with less slippage.

The price there is to pay for the seemingly tight spreads that these brokers fake ("zero"), is that the volume at the best bid/ask is minuscule. These brokers usually do not provide real limit orders (meaning your order cannot be executed beyond your limit) but only so called "market if touched"-orders (MIT), meaning that, as soon as your MIT order is activated (limit touched) it becomes a market order and can be subject to slippage; basically any amount that you want to trade will result in slippage.
If you do not want to experience slippage, use a broker that provides real limit orders. Some of these have been already mentioned (LMAX, Dukascopy with their JForex platform).

IC Markets live servers are down for the past several minutes. I was just about to close BTCUSD trades on the weekend when the servers all just went completely down. I can’t imagine what the account will look like once the live servers are back online but this is not what I was expecting from IC Markets. I’m not sure I can trust IC Markets after this.

Looking for opinions from anyone here who has traded gold with IC Markets.
I had a sell stop on XAUUSD triggered on icmarketsc-mt5-6 by a sudden Bid gap, and the fill looked like a 30+ pip outlier compared with another IC Markets live server and other live feeds.
IC said price differences can happen across servers because of load and LP differences, and they offered a goodwill adjustment for the loss and commission.
The trade would have closed in profit on the other feeds, roughly around 3x the loss, but I understand missed profit is harder to argue for.
Mainly wondering whether people here would consider that kind of LP-specific gold tick normal, and whether you’d just accept the adjustment and move on.

If the spike is only present on one IC server and not on other live feeds, I wouldn’t consider that completely normal. It looks more like a bad tick or liquidity issue. The adjustment is fair, but the execution itself is questionable.

not sure what is going on but on a 1ms server getting random 0.5pip slippages on major pairs like eur/usd that normally never get any slippage whatsoever.

earlier today 0.5pip slippage on eur/jpy as well. No news involved on both. Hopefully limited to these last days and solvee tomorrow or will deff make a ticket since this is not acceptable.

Interesting to read, what entity of IC Markets do you use ? Can you tell me more about your slippage issues ? Are you scalping over an EA ? Do you trade Asian hours ?
And most important question did you increase your lot size to 30 lots or something like that ? Then this slip is normal.

Might be a coincidense of a a few days since i didnt had this before. Didnt change lotsize, trading rather small lots. Few trades a day in high liquidity pairs. Occured during london/us sessions. Slip of 0.5pips on eur/usd was not normal. Im used to their high standards of 0.0-0.2 on similar pairs in mentioned occasions. (since in all fairness it is a good broker imo). Yesterday no slippage, so awaiting if it continues.
