nope... it's not a triangle either... the market is already too close to the point where the support and resistance are crossing and therefore the pattern can't be interpreted as a triangle... so, this is not actually a triangle in its TA sense...

so, there are several different outcomes that might be developed in the near future out of this situation... the first one is that aud might develop a bearish flag like this...

though obviously because of this very narrow ranges within the angle not much time has left till a very fast move in one or another direction takes place... same with the over-pressured swissy and other usd pairs... us election related events are likely to become the trigger for a huge spike... also from my perspective it's near impossible to expect anything good coming out of the upcoming us presidential elections regardless of the future winner's name... because Trump is a wild card nobody knows what to expect from, while in Hillary's case everyone knows well what to expect from her, which is more of the same old bs (only worse and faster) plus an imminent war with Russia... in any case it must be usd negative...

up until yesterday I used to think that the American society in general is brain dead hopelessly and only Dr. Kevorkian can now help our great nation... today it seems that this is not the case and there is still some hope... also very glad that we all have just narrowly escaped (or at least postpone) some certain nuclear war between US and Russia... congratulations... now we can relax and continue our trading business as usual...

from here I would expect cable to move a bit lower first... back to 1.2140 at least... the problem with trading now is that there is no definitive levels on most of the pairs which could be used as a basis for some longer-term trading positions in any direction... for example, there is an obvious triangle in progress on monthly eur/usd charts but since the price now is right on the middle of the formation it's impossible to establish any serious position in any direction... unfortunately we have to wait until the market comes to one of the borders to take the opposite stance.... meanwhile I can't see any other choice but to trade intraday or intraweek at best...
