The pair is consolidating sideways in preparation for the US election results tomorrow. I have closed all my positions and I am waiting for the results to come out.

I am waiting for a bigger drop in this pair, maybe US election can give some fuel to risk sentiment, high oil could also help CAD.

The CAD enjoyed reasonable gains on tuesday. The gains come over the encouraging prospects of democrats winning. So far, Donald Trump has pledged to renegotiate the trade deals binding the North American countries.

There's a lot of talk about NAFTA in the press now Trump has won convincingly. They are trying to talk down the economic impact on Canada. They say that the trade deficit with Canada, $15 billion, is negligible compared with $30 billion with China. Trump's election manifesto targeted the Canadian oil pipeline, and there are ongoing tussles over lumber imports. He is a businessman first and foremost, and understands a balance sheet. I'll leave you to do the rest of the sums.

I opened a long on this pair due to the doji and spinning top bars that formed on the four-hour time frame above the support at 1.3400. My target is at 1.3460.

A little deeper pullback would be ideal . If the price rise , then this would be the buy :

I suggest you take half at your .3460 move SL above entry with 2-3 pips then go for trailing stop. It have the potential for a further uptrend.

I don't know if it will break or not. It being a holiday tomorrow in CAD who knows... and what will oil do...


My model, I'm seeing in 5 days just based on close... high 1.3696, 20 days 1.3672, 200 days 1.3963 ...
however - possibility of 1.3150 in 5 days, 1.2950 in 20, 1.2117 possibly in 200..
