like this you have to add one by one am i right ? I was wondering if their is a way to add all indicators just by one click .so it can be faster same as for strategies .Thanks
Ignored
It only takes about two minutes to add all of them manually.

I often delete my indicators and re download to be sure I have the current ones.

We cannot import Expert Advisors from MT to Forex Strategy Builder.

FSB Pro uses a special format for its indicators and strategies. This allows the program to do a rial time backtesting with better interpolation algorithms than MT. When a strategy is created and analysed, a user may export a single file 100% native Expert Adviser.

The only way to test an existing MT EA is by setting the trading rules in FSB. If some of the indicators / rules are missing, we can create custom indicators for these rules.

My full respect to you again Mr. Popov, this is SUCH a great product and you listen to everything your customers want from you. In all honesty, this is currently the most advanced automated Forex strategy builder ever - and Iīve tested almost all of them. I wonder this topic here is not exploding with replies. FSB still seems to be a secret! But in any case, keep it up and thank you

Hello @geektrader,

Thank you for the good words!

I think there are several reasons for some traders to ignore FSB Pro:

1. Finding a good Expert Advisor is a very difficult. It is even more difficult with FSB Pro because a trader cannot produce falsely positive results. No holy grails. Over-optimization is possible but it is easily detectable with the various tools in the program.

2. Many traders do not want to create a new Expert Advisors. They have purchased or programmed EAs that do not work well and want to improved them with FSB. However this is not possible. FSB Pro has an own strategy structure that guarantees fast and reliable work.

3. Traders want to use their own MQL indicators in FSB. I do not implemented such feature because there are many wrong indicators. Using such indicator will produce false backtest. Even there are MT original indicators that repaint the signals but nobody cares. We do care and do not allow that in FSB.

4. Some traders think that because FSB is very fast, it is wrong. Quote: "It either calculates real-time or calculates on historical data". You can see how fast it is online: http://forexsb.com/ea-studio.php

5. Other traders think that the experts FSB Pro produces may be wrong because they are computer generated. However this is not true. There is no a single line computer generated code. I have manually written more than 100 000 lines MQL that form the EA core and more than 150 indicators. This code is 100% native and compiles in MT on strict mode without errors and warning.

6. Sometimes there is a difference between the FSB Pro backtest and the MT bakctest. And here most traders think MT wins because it is de facto standard, but the true is other. Such difference may come from the different data used, from exploiting the MT backtest algorithm and from MT backtester bugs (we have reported such bugs to Metaquotes but no response and fixes.)

Trade Safe!

Hi Popov,

thanks for the reply...

7. People ARE LAZY! If you donīt spoon-feed them with a perfect working EA that generates profits forever, they just donīt care. Well, to bad for them missing out on FSB then......

*Irony off*

To your points:

1) Yes, indeed, but as you say, there are enough stability tests in FSB to rule out such over-optimized strategies. Also, using a long enough data-horizon will help heaps to reduce curve-matching and improve stability of the found systems. Just to give an example: I am currently generating strategies in FSB on 30 years of data H1 (with 1M resolution possible) and it already found 127 strategies in 4 hours and some do look really promising already.

2) Yes, absolutely clear of course.

3) Haha yep, that is something you luckily always have avoided (I am following FSB since about 2010 already, once it has a custom fitness formula / weighting, I will buy it right away!), and MT4, I donīt think we have to say much about that "program"

4) Yes, the speed is very good, I am happy with that too, amazing work! One little thing that bugs me though is that I canīt set it to run the generation "until I stop it", it seems I always have to use a limit of max 10.000 minutes. Could you possibly remove that and just make it run until I stop it? Reason is: I run a steady generation on servers I own and sometimes they just should generate strategies for a month long. With Strategyquant I can do that just fine, but FSB always wants to limit me to these 10000 minutes.

5) Wow, yes, I always how crazy it is that you are coding this ALL alone since so many years already - BIG respect for that, especially that it all compiles in #strict mode! Think Iīve never seen such a coder anywhere, honestly.

6) Yes, thatīs just normal, as long as the majority matches and it is not a bug from FSB (so far for me this all was correct backtest wise), nothing to worry about. And we donīt have to talk about MQ, do we? Haha... I have submitted COUNTLESS bugs as well, not ONE of them got fixed nor did I ever get a reply about any of them. Oh well...

Thanks a lot and keep it up, this is just outstanding what you are doing there all alone!

The FSB pro software is so convenient that you can even trick it to use renko charts for trading. Renko is not natively supported by the software, but you can use third party renko chart generator EA's to build renko charts and use it for trading via FSB. Here is one example with 3pip renko bricks:

Good work Zenoni!

I supposed the Renko may work on historical data, but I'm surprised you managed to use them on live trading. Good job.

Yup, FSB is some solid and versatile piece of software, very outstanding that itīs done all alone by Mr Popov!

As for the renko charts, yes, you can import them into FSB and some other strategy building software too, the problem though is, they are not reliable if you are using rather big box sizes > 10 pips (or ATR box sizes), because then the look of the chart can change completely in live trading later on, depending on the start date of the renko chart. You have a box-chain-dependency in renko charts in general. With smaller box sizes the effect is less problematic though, but overall thatīs the reason Iīve stopped to use renko charts as a base for automated strategies.

I'm testing this now.
First question:
I like costumized fractals (3 frames, 5 frames, 7 frames). I see this is not possible in the software.
WHat would I need to do to get this in the software? Do I need to be an expirienced programer?

Hello Capoeira,

Thank you for testing Forex Strategy Builder Professional.

The program includes the Fractal indicator as described by Bill Williams in his famous book - Trading Chaos.
There is also a similar to it indicator Ross Hook.

If you need other variant, you have to create a special custom indicator. It requires certain programming skills.

I am working with the new 'Work Flow' on the web version.

That thing is so fast to produce strategies that are passing the stiffest tests. I am really amazed..

In the past hour I have produced more than 20 strategies that I will place on charts for forward testing........ I am awestruck by the speed.

Using the desktop would have taken a couple days.

so here is what I got while I slept........ I find these numbers amazing.

Iterations 2,098,961
Generated Strategies 1,560,945
Passed Validation at Optimizer 592
Passed Monte Carlo 395
Passed Multi Markets 354

So. out of all that I have the 354 to work with, I need to apply some criteria like ret/dd to sift through them.

I had the Multi Markets set at 3 currencies, perhaps I have to set that higher, but to me.. the three should be good enough.

These are daily charts which are my favorite, most of my strategies are daily and 4 hour.

Later I will post some more results, after I experiment a bit....

I have a question......

I have uploaded data to the web version for seven pairs and am wondering about the Multi Charts.

How many charts should that be set at...... 3 or 5 or 7.. What would indicate robustness...

I am not interested in having a perfect strategy, I just want to escape curve fitting.... would 3 pairs be enough?

Thanks

Hello, and thank you for the detailed explanation on the FSB software, i been using it for a while now and i can't seem to make the algorithm created by this program to obey all the logics in the same time, tried to put them all in one group but it didn't work, the logics that im using are divided among timelines from 1H chart down until the 1m chart and it all has to be present in the same time in order for the strategy to work

But in that case the trades will be open in the tester at the presence of only some of them or sometimes most of them leaving 2 or more logics unconfirmed which will cause excessive draw down or failure of the opened trade since the price will move in the opposite direction

Another very important thing is that im working on a scalping strategy and i wish i can make a custom entry on the crossing of the MACD indicator on a 1m chart, but am i bound only by the entry rules that i can find in the Open Point of the Position tab, or is there a way of creating a different entry that is not currently present in the program?
