Hello dear traders,

Im Miroslav Popov, the author of Forex Strategy Builder Professional. Im opening this thread to provide more information about the program and to provide help and support for it in this community.

Forex Strategy Builder Professional (FSB Pro) is the logical successor of the Forex Strategy Builder project developed for more than ten years (copyrighted first on 2006).

The main website of the project is http://forexsb.com . You can find there more information, download links, support forum and online user guide.

Forex Strategy Builder Professional is a complete tool for creating strategies without programming, based on technical indicators. It includes also several powerful tools as Strategy Generator, Optimizer, Robustness tests and many other.

The program exports Expert Advisors for trading with MetaTrader 4 and 5.

I can proudly and responsively say that FSB Pro is the world most reliable backtesting software designed to protect the trades.

Part 1 - Exporting Expert Advisors

Learn how to generate a forex trading strategy using the generator, then create expert advisor automatically without programming. All EAs will be exported directly to your MT4 and MT5 installed terminals. I will show you how to set export paths for your newly created Expert Advisors manually too.
I also show you how to get your Expert Advisor up and running in MetaTrader. There are a few tips and tricks that you should know about before proceeding. You can later see the replacement mechanisms FSB Pro implies when creating experts with file names that already exist. Sometimes you might need to compile the EAs yourself but it's easy to do with a few clicks.

I wish you neat profits with your newly created Expert Advisors!

Hi Miroslav,

itīs great to see that ongoing development of this great software and that there now is a Pro version of it. I have generated some strategies that still work good in 2008, so I am really looking forward to FSB Pro and what it can do. What I really love is that the bridge is not required anymore, SUPERB work!!!

Certainly this program has a lot of features.

Do you ever share any strategies that have been trading on a real account for a while?

Thanks

"Forex Strategy Builder Professional is a complete tool for creating strategies without programming, based on technical indicators".

What about strategies that are not based on technical indicators?

This is the problem with most of these tools, they only allow you to build EA's based on indicators. They do not allow you create price action based EA's.

Dear RobTaylor,

All technical indicators represent exactly a Price Action. I'll give you some examples for FSB Pro:

  1. Previous High Low indicator takes the High and Low of the previous bar and can be used for triggering or filtering market entries;
  2. Price Move indicator sets two entry level, above and below the Open price shifted with a predefined number of points;
  3. Fractals and Ross Hooks give you a way to enter at an upper or a lower swing;
  4. Round Numbers and Pivot Points can be used for determining the support and resistance levels.

The program comes with more than 100 indicator which can be used in various predefined ways. There are also about 80 custom indicators in our online repository.
If you know programming, which is mandatory if you are creating EA's, you have thousands, if not millions, ways to define your price actions in a custom indicator.

In reality, you create tens of experts per hour using the automatic generator. Who cares what exactly action they are using if they show a good backtest performance and pass all fitness criteria you have defined.

Thanks for your reply. It does sound like a very comprehensive program. If it allows you to create EA's based on price action then i will be interested in that.

I saw in the FSB Pro forum a couple of your EA's that have excellent equity curves.

Equity curve is really important as we create strategies. I wonder if there is some technique that you use to get these lovely looking curves.

And do those stand up to the stress tests, like Martingale etc.?

Thank you

This is a portfolio of expert advisers that I am starting to build.

You can see that I am in the very initial stages.

These are daily EURUSD

Please notice that I have a large period of stagnation..... more than two years.

What can I do to reduce that, actually, I would like to eliminate the stagnation.

Thanks

Hello Dave. There are two general approaches.

  1. Run the Generator for 1-2 hours with the default settings and leave it to create thousands of strategies. When it is ready open the Strategy Collection page where the Generator pushes and sorts the strategies. Use the sorting and filtering options to show the strategies with the best balance shape.
  2. Use the Acceptance Criteria (from Control Panel) to set your requirements. The Generator checks if a strategy fulfills the criteria before pushing to the Collection page. Doing that the Generator will accept less strategies, but they will comply with the criteria set. You can check the different parameters. If you have questions, I'll try to answer. The Criteria give many possibilities.

Dave, probably you mean Monte Carlo or some of the other tools. Martingale money management is available in the program, but I personally do not use it. On the other hand, the Monte Carlo simulations and the Comparator tool are very important to evaluate the strategy robustness.

My son is interested in learning to trade and he was watching me use the software.

He is still attending college and is wondering if there is a cheap or free version of the software that he can use to trade with.

I am not too sure if there is a usable version that someone can trade with, but if there is such a thing it would be most helpful.

Thanks

Hello Dave,

Forex Strategy Builder Professional is suitable for any forex enthusiast. It has a Free mode for unlimited time with available all technical indicators, portfolio calculator and exporting of Expert Advisors.

Your son can experiment with the indicators with various implementation logical rules. He can set the application manual and to see the backtest result in real time. No need programming or advanced skills. However, once he becomes familiar with the strategies logic, he can dive into the indicators or the Expert Advisors code because all C# and MQL code is publicly available.

Further to that he can try implementing his own custom indicators either in C# or in MQL.

For any technical questions visit the developers forum at http://forexsb.com/forum/forum/38/developers-forum/

Do you have any hints as to how to structure an advisor that will pass the 'Multi-Markets' test.

Thanks

Here is a report on one that I am working on, this is on a 5 minute chart.

I used all of the 'Williams' indicators to make this.

I also used the feature to 'add' lots for the trades

I just used 35,000 bars , I guess that is about a month, and the thing doubled the opening balance.

Not Bad!

I will export the EA to both MT4 and MT5 as I have accounts for both. I like that EA export feature a great time saver.

I want you to explain how I can use the Multi Markets tool a bit to make sure the thing will be robust.... do you have any hints?

Thanks
