If you're looking to buy to rent then London is one of the worst areas in the UK to do this in. You will get much bigger profits in places like Manchester. Yes you will get the highest rent per month in money in London, but when you do the sums you will get a greater ROI per year buying in places like Manchester.
If looking to buy to sell then yes, London is probably a good bet as the percentage increase in property value per year is usually highest in London.
