The news wasn't negative for CAD. initial 1st minute reaction was to buy cad.

There are other things in play here causing CAD to be sold. But the news was positive for CAD.

I'm new to trading (couple of months) and I'm still struggling understanding the movements in the market. I started with using only technicals, but
I quickly noticed they get overriden by fundamentals so I'm focusing more on that and using technicals to place enter/exit.

But this is regarding the US economy.

I think it is more about the weakness in Canadian exports and lowered risk of inflation as reported by the bank of Canada.
Also the declining price of Oil.

I was disappointed with this news event, was hoping to make some pips.
