Hello all, so here is a trade I'm watching and think we have made a swing low and are now in a uptrend. I'm going to try to enter and hold long term, potentially for a few days to a week.

I have to say I'm horrible at picking the trend but something I am working at.

U/C with a target of 1.3050 area

Hi Teton,

It might not be that you are horrible at picking trend, but rather sometimes there is no trend, or price is in a range on higher time frame, which means lower time frame trend will change quite frequently.

For example UCad is in a range on weekly time frame for most of the year. And the problem with the range is it is very sloppy, and the levels are not holding very well.

I have not traded this pair for a while for this reason. I tried it a couple times, but decided it was not the best PA context for me to trade successfully...

Edit: another suggestion... try zooming out all the way on H1 time frame and see if the direction is clear. I think you'll see for Ucad it is not. If you zoom out all the way on H1 time frame for gold, as another example, the direction is clearly up. Hope this helps... (not suggesting you should trade gold, but just an example of clear trend)

For me, i only focus on three pairs USDJPY EURUSD GBPUSD as i think that they had already provided enough opportunities for me to make profit.
Most important is that i really don't have much more time to spend on other pairs and i have no confident to trade with those currencies that i don't know the Fundamentals
and i personally don't like to have more than two pairs to have open trades at the same time, i would rather put all eggs in one basket ​ ​

That is certainly true even on a daily its been in a consolidation, but its still a 500 pip range. My idea of a big trade is 100+ pips. Most of my trades are between 5-20 pips.

Just curious what pairs do you like for trending now? Cheers

I think its very smart to focus on just a few pairs and you have done amazing with them. Congrats

well you need to check your drawdown, a good system is the one that you make 1 thousand trades and your risk are in control in all of them, 1 trade canot eat more than 10% i think.

But you have something there, you said that you had lucky, its that true? or you have a system or a way to trade? what is your maximum risk per trade?

Potential Target Intra-Day (Today) at 1.300. I think this pair is good enough to Buy. I will place SL at 1.2900. Potential entry at 1.2925.

Not using PVSRA? i dont see the solid trend.

i dont see anything for trading now, aud usd in daily timeframe is showing a pinbar sell signal in resistance, also in gbpusd in daily is showing an inside bar in resistance, and in eurusd a pin bar sell signal almost in resistance.

It is PVSRA mate. You have option to turn off or on the solid trends indies at the Higher TF.

For GU, @ Daily TF is still very bearish. (Check)

The opportunity depends on how much pips you target for a day, See range in AU, UChf, and EU is very tight, maybe in this tight range You can lower your pips target to 25 pips or max 50 pips.

For UCad, UJpy, and GU maybe You could search more by max 75 pips. For Me, the basic rule pips target only 1/3 Average Daily Range. That is for Intra Day.

GOLD
imo not in so clear uptrend anymore...looks like exhaustion to me.. TL shows down trend and zig zag is making LHs and LLs...be careful with adding longs, imo, you should secure exsisting longs with SL just in case.

Good point Sister, if Gold versus USD is in exhaustion mode, I think will be much influence on GU and EU or AU pairs coz the "Gold Fixing Rate" in London. Maybe GU, EU and AU will continue down move today.

But Off course We can not know. See example "Rigging" again in EU H1.

Yes to all, but pairs don't move all at the same time. For example EU might hold and GU might drop real good (this is just an example, not prediction).
One is holding or consolidating, while another drops. I don't see EU as bearish yet, but we of course cannot know the future.
I'm leaving for boating probably the last time this season, not taking laptop with me this time (because it is Friday), so GU will remain my only trade.

I set Up all Stop order UCad, UJpy, and GU for today with no more than 1% risk initial for today. All target 75 pips.

I will sell GU from the 1.3300 to make sure that in lining with down trend in Our small TF M15 (confirmation).

AU weak free flow almost 50 pips after LO, EU after LO is on the same weak I think.
