GUys, the rate was .5% yet USDCAD went up. In the past when this occurred, it would go down. ie Cad got stronger. So why in this case did the CAD get weaker with the same result? was it the IVEY PMI?

The European Central Bank meeting is expected to be a 'no change' affair

  1. The announcement comes at 1145GMT
  2. ECB President Draghi gives a press conference at 1230GMT
  3. No big change to policy is expected today (economist still expect an extension to QE by year end); Draghi is expected to be on the dovish side in his new conference comments though
  4. If there is a change in policy from the bank it is expected to be perhaps extending its QE bond-buying program by six months (from March to September 2017)
  5. Press Conference may provide some volatility as well if you want to scalp a few pips. You can watch it live here: http://www.ecb.europa.eu/press/tvser.../index.en.html
