EUR/JPY is nearing the top of a massive about 1000 pip wide channel. I have a buddy who is waiting for it to hit that will short it, go to daily chart and zoom out and you will see the large channel.

Looking for sell with SL above the last Lower High. At least 3 minimum reward. Of course we should close half after a short decline to cover our trade :

When you say cover now to reduce 100%... it means that you close 50% of the trade and adjust the stop loss to equal the amount of the 50% closed trade.

You let the stop loss remain above your entry price so there will be higher chances of reaching the final Take profit, then as price price continues your way you will adjust the sl to secure some profit.


If that is correct-- At what point do you decide that its time to cover the trade.

It is correct.. Usually at 1:1 risk:reward to maintain the Stoploss aproximatively where it was.

This Pair is primed for a rebound. See it retracing. No fundamental reason to bring EURO down on this Pair. Initial reaction on JPY strength was more of a dissapointment reaction on lack of further rate cut. This strength won't last as there is nothing holding this pair up....
