Im not really worried about what others do. If you trust that the experts are telling you to hold longs do it. best of luck

However, I disagreed with the writer's conclusion to discount technicals. We need both, and to be used strategically.

As ive learnt through the years, two things -

1) Keep it simple - many technical indicators are just...indicators...they don't predict the future. So don't place too much hope in them. (the forexlive article actually speaks quite a lot of truth!). Personally, i stick to trend lines, moving averages and support & resistance lines...and i use them to determine when to enter or exit a trade.

2) You can hold on to a view, whether bullish or bearish, but don't "marry" it. It's pretty easy to identify support and resistance lines. So if you believe it's going up, but yet it falls through support zones, you may want to think about getting out first, stepping aside, then deciding when to go long from again later when it has settled. it's no point insisting "It should go up!!" when it's showing you in your face that it's falling.

I'm no pro, i have days when i go "what the hell is happening in the markets??? im losing money again!!". but i've generally found success in the long run trading full time and making consistent returns. these two points have worked for me. good luck pal!

After flat to the point of 0.76494 the trend will move towards the resistance line to the point of 0.76836.

Few scalps on au keeps Centrelink away not a bad tactic . I'm fully unemployed as well and Centrelink won't even accept me .

still looks like bearish PA overall to me (particularly the weekly)
A closed daily/weekly break of red TL would be encouraging

I know nothing about definitives' in forex, but with diverging policies on interest rates and green US employment data lately, I would say probabilities are with USD longs against AUD.

I am also watching 19000 area on the DOW for long term bearish signs which, if plays out, will strengthen USD

Hmm, the difference between both sides is that one has some certainty in its actions whereas the other has been wishy-washy for the longest time ever. The market doesn't seem to bother with the uncertainty anymore I feel.

If you're talking about the certainty of the RBAs' actions in cutting interest rates, I don't see this as a positive for AUD regardless of how you spin it...

Im with commonwealth bank and my interest rate was just cut from 4.6 to 4.47. If banks are passing it on you can guess there will be more cuts to come. A couple of the big banks suggest the cash rate will be cut to 1% . Im not sure it will go that low but who knows. RBNZ are looking at cutting another .35%. So yes something is happening for them to keep cutting and its not a positive sign.

The market is in volatile times and the reason why its volatile because its uncertain.
