Can anybody remember why I stopped testing Renko?

If memory serves, this kicked ass before and seemingly is still doing the same...

2 Pip Bricks, 7 standard pairs in tow.

IIRC, it was because in theory, performance should be comparable without renko. At least that's what a side by side showed in forward test. And then it was easier to do without renko for all the testers because then we could all test without needing renko. We never did a longer term side by side, especially with commercial version.

I think it was my lapse on getting my OVO renewed that caused me to drop the testing.

Will be interesting to see what it does now with all mods in place.

I will continue the testing, full open days and see where it leads.

It's not looking too bad so far.

My tester is running with a 2 pip brick size, would be interesting to see how the lost sock does with this.

Also back to 2 brick size for Renko (was 10). Seems good so far with lesser DD during the day ! Not yet done for the 28 Pair..
It could be the holiday period... that at least for EU... but it looks like YBR (pretty amazing so far) and Renko is a good joint venture.

Don't just see the sock that remains, observe the process that the logic takes to find it's mate.



Keep in mind, this is an alternate strategy that was meant to be played when market can run considerably out of range and run through trend reversals...not specifically as a sole running EA.

The idea behind posting it, is to test it's successes and compare these to it's failures and from there, try to see how this would play on a press Tuesday into an FK Wednesday. Dragging the dead soldiers in FK would have a considerably easier time, if we stopped the cost averaging when the immediate trend stopped playing nicely.

No, these can be run with any EA and would probably be interesting to watch under the Lost Socks as is provided in the first post.

There is a 2 week trial period on OVO's software and from there you decide if Renko is a path that you choose to walk.

Personally, I've had my successes and failures with Renko and I have no motivation for recommending their software with except to say that it's quite honestly the Best Renko charting package that I've worked with.

On my previous test, I'm pretty sure I was running 2 pip bricks. Seems odd, but given that the min range between trades is 2 pips, it seemingly makes a little sense.

I would actually like to try it on the 28 pairs for comparitive purposes.

Sure, there will probably be some better days working with the candles but as it sits now, Renko with all in logic in FK, is kicking ass over standard M1 candles.

The big decision on the lost sock is to keep the wussy close enabled or disabled, but this can be addressed by the size of movement.

Given the delay in cost averaging, it may look a little ugly, but will afford you enough time to either tap out manually or gamble on logic.

I haven't tested this on Fixed lot settings, but would be interested to see if this works out as well.

How things going, had a rough run on one of my small live test account the week before last on FK, got busy and left trading during news with not tight enough SL's. Wabaam....
At least learning on small accounts, hehe.

Do you feel the G20 will effect the FK allot, whats everyone's plans for Monday with live accounts.
I have some small trades on the go still over this weekend , probably silly again but I have tightened up my SL's.
AUDUSD sell and EURUSD sell. hmm

Let me know what everyone is thinking.

Hey Spencer, sorry to hear about your loss, I took a bit of a small hit on a couple of accounts due to a power outage last week myself.
SIGH...

Most of my accounts are on a VPS, but had a couple just to fuck with an not overload the VPS running on my home stations. Woke up Wednesday morning and the house was a little too quiet...checked out my PCs and "Oh FUCK". Nothing huge, but enough to make me need to consolidate 2 accounts for safety.
Meh.

Trading the Summer Session can be tricky in that large moves out of nowhere can be present without suffiecient volume to stop the plays, but overall, until September, I just expect a lot of WhipSaw type action.

Will the G20s effect the market?
Possibly, but my bet is that for the most part, nothing more than has been present in the last week.

If anything, expect to see the Wussy close chew threw a few of the gains while regular action continues to slowly build.

The version of Lost Socks I had running last week, did fairly well. This too in spite of it being one of the accounts impacted by the power outage.

The other version was running the wussy close and due to the market range and wussy close, ended up in the red over the weekend.

I've still got a couple of ideas to develop on these, but overall, I am not disappointed.

One of the others that I found rather interesting was a Correlation trader that is running some of the Falling Knives logic, but is being filtered through 2 additional pairs. This idea was proposed and is being worked on by Abokwaik in his Yen Trader thread ->HERE

Though it took a couple of hits on the wussy close too, did manage to keep in the green for the week and DD on the 12 pairs in trade was actually fairly reasonable.

I think that I may just drop the YBR lost sock into this one and get it ready for a public trial.
