I skipped this trade as I found by the time to open the trade that H4 PA formed a strong pinbar from a support/BRN level.

Thanks phi1ipp, I would not have thought of that. Though mine was not looking much like a pin..

Market was sideways in a consolidation range. This usually happened after a very strong trending move. How do we see that?
We can use a combination of seeing the volatility of the price and its momentum, price action analysis and also the use of the TDI volatility band feature.

Different broker server time will show different H4 Open.High,Low and Close OHLC. Hence we see different price bar patterns and Japanese candlestick patterns. The APB/HA which we use in TMS will also have slight difference.

So I read a bit today starting from this page going backward..
It seems you took the lead over Big E and the strategy changed a bit!

I wonder is Big E's strategy out of date/not working anymore?
If so, where must I start reading this thread to be up to date with you?

hi i also have been learning this TMS strategy and always keeping with the basic just like ellfranz said
now in my charts i only have heiken hashi and TDI

my winning ratio is 70-90% with TMS but always trying to keep following the trends if not the result will not be above 50%

have been a silence reader for 2years and 6 months and i want to tell you guys this strategy is the most simple and the most profitable as long you are keep following the trend and be patient

Hi zeTrade,

I can assure your that Big E' Trading Made Simple 5-Method is still one of the best winning trading methodology here in FF. I have been trading this for the past 6 years here in FF. Why? it is a trend following trading method and there are trends in every different timeframes. Traders just need to forward test this method on their own and find the most suitable timeframe in which they want to trade.

Anyone can trade the same way Big E did when he was alive. He stopped posting in 2011 due to illness and he passed away in Oct 2012. It has been 6 years since he started this thread. Nothing has changed to the core method except that some members who have more experience would add something to the method and they share their experience here.
What is most important is how we interpret Big E's posts - Post#261 and Post#647 and with consistency. A lot of price action stuff which is considered to be the basic forex stuff. These are what many newbie traders here lack and find most problems when they trade TMS 5-Method.
By adding another indicator will not increase the long term win rates and profitability. When traders add one more indicator to the method, they in fact reduces the number of trade opportunities. So what do they do? they look at more pairs so that they can find enough trade opportunities. Some member as far as to look at 28 currency pairs because they could not achieve any win rate above 40%.

You have to read all of Big E's posts and learn from the man. First master the trading the method and learn how to read price action and how to see support and resistance on your charts, the way Big E did.

Market is sideways now and I don't see it ready for position trading to start selling yet until we see a bearish reversal in the higher TF.

Hi All

Today i would like to share successful entry during asian session. +65
1) GBPNZD - identified support from previous day MC
- entry from M15 candle (second picture)
- Exit +65 (not being greedy)

Lessons learned- add second position via ME/ME and let profits run to TP-2 or next support or resistance.

2) GBPUSD - separate entry for +48

Overall successful day re Pound, wth GBP Monetary Policy and US news due tonight (my time) all trades are off table.

Let's admit it - more than half of us either got destroyed leading up to, during, or after the BoE news.

And if not then, then now with China's news on GDP.

That's my only explanation about the silence on this thread. Unfortunate.

Hi,

The best way is to create two templates - one for TMS 5-Method and the other for Synergy_Pro trading model.
Big E' TMs 5-Method is aggressive entry and the Synergy trading model is conservative.
Their entry and exit rules are different. Money management are also different.

You trade both methods and compare your own trading results. First do your own back-testing on the timeframe and in your own trading business hours. Count the number of trade opportunities for both methods, you can count the number of wins and losses. Then do forward testing in live market condition using a demo account with the same account size which you plan to trade with live real money later.

What should be your live account size? I suggest you decide this based on one year of your annual salary what your full-time job pays. Then use 50% of that annual salary as your starting trading capital and start with demo money of same amount. Doing this way, you will treat the demo like real money and you will see from your trading results how much of the market money you can make with 50% of your annual salary. Is 10% profit every 20-trading days good enough?

What do you do with the other 50%? Put that aside in some low risk safe investment, like in a bank which pay good interest.

For newbie traders, I recommend you trade with a conservative approach and you will get better results which will help you in building confidence in trading. After 1,000 trades, you should get a good feel of the trading method and also learn a lot about the market. the market will teach you more than anyone here if forums like Forex Factory. When you have 3 to 5 years trading experience and have achieve and maintain consistent win rate above 50%, you can consider to trade agrreisvely like Big E and with high risk of 15% to 30% per trade using of his $10,000 account deposit.

Compare these two charts below, which do you see is easier to trade?

i didn't and don't assume things on others.. only thing that matters is your own trading. Know your risks when trading and if you feel risk in trading through news step aside.. especially with such major news..

I know that most traders who trade very short term trends in smaller TF like H1, M30 and M15 will end up losers more often than not. The reason is they trade with small lot size and small stop loss. They do not believe in Position Sizing using market volatility.
Those who trade the bigger TF like H4 and D1 chart trends will do better when they use Position Sizing and know where to place their stop loss to avoid the market volatility during news release.

Look at all D1 chart for example, and look what happened when there is news release. Do the news reverse the established direction or trend? How oftern do you see the 2-days look back as stop loss got stopped out. Look at GBPUSD D1 chart as an example when BoE rate annoucment yesterday, did the volatility hit below Tuesday July 12 low?
