Lets Automate a Simple Renko Strategy!

At the moment imho more promissing looks another my "Simple Renko Strategy" EA. It is RenkoVdub. You may try and compare it with previous one. It needs to have Vdub_Pivot_Channel indicator in your MQL4/Indicators folder. You may also attach it to your charts for visualization.

Less than one month results with constant 0.1 lot.

do i have to attach the EA to offline M2?or this will work on any TF?

unfortunately your EA does not work
Which EA version opens trades per the original rules in post 1? I am getting confused by all these indicators. YzT indicator is not in the original rules and is redundant to the built in MA.

That's an interesting EA you made there sevan62. Not bad result when I back tested last 6 months EURUSD.

Dont be too quick with your conclusions. Remember the previous one was not trading for you at first and you've failed to find MN in EA.
First try to check your MT4/chart/EA options/settings.

You may attach it to any chart (offline or regular) with any TF. It will work. You may simply try - it cost nothing.

Please be aware that test results may not match live trading especially you've tesed EA on Renko bricks. Anyway use only non-gap renko buider for back-testing purposes. This type of EA is opening and closing deals on close bars only that is why back-test results must be more accurate. Also hope this EA may have some advantage on regular TF charts. You may try.

Yea already had that one but it does not have the TP/SL option in it. Only the yzt version does. Anyway thanks for all your hard work. Ill see if I can figure how to write my own.

sevan62, applied your RenkoVdub back test to the H4 chart (2015 - present).

Unfortunately, my modeling quality was poor but going back and looking at trades manually on chart, I believe has potential.

*adjusted lot size increased drawdown and profit obviously.

Checked one more time original strategy rules from post#1. Nothing is said about TP. And EA places SL according to above rules

EA has no SL as user defined parameter, it calculates SL value and places it automatically. But original exit criteria works every time earlier

Great results mate. I dont think mate you have to worry much about modeling quality. Poor modeling quality informs us only about the fact we have less data inside the bars we are testing. For example you are testing on H4 TF and you have now all the data from H1, M30, M15, M5 and M1 inside this H4. It is significant in case EA opens/closes & trail the deal inside this H4. But my EA which you are testing operates for close prices only, so no any deals opened/closed/trailed insed the bar. In this case EA needs ony open&close prices of each bar and nothing more. You may even back-test it using the lowest MT4 tester Model "Open prices only". The result will not differ much but testing time decrease redically. It is much useful if you run optimization with great number of results.

IMHO what you have to care more it is the total number of deals in your back-test. I don't trust in results with lower than 100 deals. It is a high probability that such results will not continue in future. The best way is to have 1000 and more deals in back-test, good is from 500.
