Hi guys,

I've been trading this technique for 3 months now and have been doing quite well. If any of you guys have any suggestion to make this system even better, do post and contribute to this thread.

The system I've been using is very very simple.

The time frame I use is the 5 minutes chart.

Indicator I use is:
(1) Parabolic SAR (Step 0.03 & Maximum 0.3)
(2) Heiken Ashi

Those are the only two indicators I've used

Trading rule:
(1) If the bar is moving above the Parabolic SAR, I look for buy. I wait for the bar to go from white to red. While the the bar is at red, I place a market order at the top of the bar. i keep the moving down the order on the next bar until either my order is hit or the Parabolic SAR move from bottom to the top.
(2) If my limit order is hit, my stop lost is the Parabolic SAR and that stop lost move with the Parabolic SAR. My profit should be either equal or more then the risk that I take.

Since it's a very simple system, anybody willing to automate this system?

Hi Arya323. Thanks for sharing your trading method. It is very simple. I like it. Do have a question though. How do you handle the whipsaws? Or when you get filled up during price pullback in a strong trend? Do you trade a specific session?

Hey Arya323. I like your system and I am all about keeping it simple. Have you considered trying the same strategy on a renko chart? Might make it smoother?
Best, Josh

Unfortunately I still haven't figure out a way to filter out whipsaws. Only thing I can do is have a strict risk management and no trading around data. I trade during European session.

Maybe JoshuaHope suggestion might be a way to filter whipsaws. I'll have to forward test his idea for a few week.

Your proposed system appears to be a variation of the Heiken Ashi Parabolic system that has been around for a while. To prevent trading during ranging situations where there are whiplashes you likely need a filter of some kind. I would recommend that you visit http://newdigital-world.com/forum.php (a great little site BTW) where New Digital has proposed at least 3 different filters that could be tried (allstochastics, or alltrend envelopes or digital filters if I remember correctly) on the Heiken Ashi Parabolic system.

Hope this helps.

Hey Arya, I have already looked into it. It does make it smoother, but we will still need another filter. It works very well on the longer runs, but during choppy markets, you get "chopped". Pakeha's idea is good.
Best, Josh

No extra filters needed! You already have 2: HA + SAR. It's a decent system which trades pullbacks. Just start trading it and forget the search for another filter.

But in choppy markets the whipsaws will kill you and you will cry
