hy, change the IndexCoefficients means that for example at the usd index in it's calculatioans the euro has a bigger value than gbp and we can change that?sorry english is not my firs language and i don't understand some things .....i was tryng to replicate the index as this guy does http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...74#post5257574
It simply means that the EURUSD has a weighting of -57.6% in the Dollar Index.

Or you can replicate for example the EURUSD with two other FX pairs.

Just like that:

IndexPairs: EURCAD, USDCAD
IndexCoefficients: 0.5, -0.5
IndexInitialValue: 1

what i want to say is that in the usd index ...in it's calculation u can't put the euro and the chf to have the same value more like this USDXt=50,14348112 x (EURt)–0,576 x (JPYt)0,136 x (GBPt)–0,119 x (CADt)0,091 x (SEKt)0,042 x (CHFt)0,036

so for calculating the AUD index we can see the values differ so we can't put the equal values

Out of curiosity is the top one the underlying instrument and the lower one the synthetic?

Ditto Merry Xmas and a prosperous new year.
Each represents a pool of very specific instruments.

One internally in the FX market place and the other externally.

Imbalances could be fixed at any time.

Which currencies you put in your equations when you create synthetic (when you trade forex only)?

Are they USD, JPY, EUR, GBP, CHF, CAD, AUD? Did you include NZD?

Like when you trade EUR/JPY, do you include EUR/NZD + JPY/NZD in your equations?

Or it depend on session? Like in London, when you trade GBP or CHF, NZD or CAD or AUD maybe useless?

Or it depend on timeframe? If you trade lower than H1 timeframe, you put different set of currencies than H1 or larger?


And coefficients are fixed or dynamic depend on current market?

Internally for Forex the 8 major currencies (USD,EUR,JPY,GBP,CHF,AUD,CAD,NZD), but only for smaller imbalances.
If there occur bigger imbalances that reveals there is now a real trend.
They can and often be balanced out elsewhere (not in the FX market).

Math is independent from session.
It's calculated 24/7 anyway, so timeframes don't matter.

Coefficients should and are equal to get the best results.

Please, the recent Brexit volatility, how do you think that imbalance was offset by dealers?

Was it all done in the FX markets? If not, was it Gilt? Or where? Thankks
