{quote} Yes. It would appear that the trend changed on EURCAD as defined by the logic and the Tap out on Retrace closed the trades at a loss. Tap out on Retrace was added as an option, "The Wussy Close", and by default, has always been set to true...only difference is now you have this as an option. The reason I added it as an option is because we've previously just taken all trades as being the same...now that we can choose to not trade certain days, the "Wussy Close" may not be as required. Personally...and if you are running with more than 7...

Thanks mate...very well explained and I do agree Wussy Close makes sense, especially on small account sizes and having many pairs in fire.
BTW...all other pairs did prosper well today.... I have had already previously issues with EURCAD and consider to abandon it.

You don't need a separate script or EA, this is built in to the current version.

Set:
Trade on (Day) = False
Closing Method = Close all trades Immediately

And it will close all the trades on ONLY the pair that were taken by the EA, immediately.

{quote} DD is 26%. My gain is 2.5% and DD is 15% and its increasing, please advise how to reduce DD without sacrificing gain. At this moment when I am editing post it has caused 12.55% loss and flat is 5% I am using following pairs: USDJPY, GBPJPY, AUDUSD, GBPAUD

Sorry dude, I didn't see this post.

On the test account I am running, USDJPY isn't one of the pairs in trade but AUDUSD is. It's floating along smoothly and I don't believe was ever in any serious situations.

USDJPY on the other hand, I cannot comment on as I have no live trades on this one for forward testing.

USD was a High Impact News day today, if you were following the same logic as I am and sitting out on High Impact News Days, USDJPY and AUDUSD wouldn't be in trade.

In the event that you have elected to trade pairs on high impact news days, there's not a lot that I can recommend but to either cut losses, or allow the logic to continue as intended.

Today there are high impact news on USD (i.e. FOMC Member Bullard Speaks), GBP (i.e. Current Account, final GDP) and CAD (i.e. GDP) so shall I close all active trades of these currency pairs which are in loss? that will be total loss of 28% in the account!!! Major float is by GBPJPY and all other pairs I closed now in loss. do you suggest GBPJPY also need to be closed due to high impact news?

Now at this time EA closed positions in loss for all GBPUSD pairs. I stopped EA and Total loss this week 27%. I can not afford losing more than this in my live account!!! Tanks to Magix for giving trial in live account.

This one?

It will close all open trades, not just pair or chart selection.

There are 2 options for High Impact News days.
1. Trade on (Today)=True
2. Trade on (Today)=False.

If you have left these as default, high impact news can have a high impact on your account.
If you have changed this to False, your closing options are:

1. Closing method outside of trading days/hours = Close orders using normal Logic
2. Closing method outside of trading days/hours = Close all orders immediately.

I don't make recommendations as to how to manage your account...I only provide the information I feel relevant.

It's been a long time for me since I managed peoples funds, and I have no intent on going back to this...especially for free.

If this is a live account, it's up to you to decide what to do. Leave the logic to do it's thing, or close all, cut losses and start again.

I've got nothing.
Test the one by Johnhere a couple of posts back.

Looks like that might be exactly what you are looking for.

It may be possible to use the EA to still do this...I believe manual trades are default magic number= 0.
If you set this on the EA, select the day to false and close all immediately, it might do the same...but I've never tested it.

Just wondering Magix, will the new MT4 985 build effect any logic in the EA? Been enjoying watching what this has done since the Brexit, its interesting. Was also wondering if your commercial rep had considered offering a demo copy with each license? I enjoy running an all pair demo to compare how things are running on other pairs so I can cherry pick the few I run live.

I haven't seen anything in Build 985 that would lead me to believe that there will be any issues with logic...but until it's actually in full swing, who knows?

As for a Demo Copy per license, I'm not sure.

Appreciating that it's nice to compare pairs and settings while still having something work live, it'd definitely be something I would consider as being advantageous...but golden rule will most ultimately be applied.

Golden Rule:
He who has the Gold, Makes the rules.

Nothing is officially finalized on the commercial side of things, so in all honesty, I'm really not sure what's going to happen for the week(s) following. Maybe it'd just be easier if I went commercial and started selling the fucker myself. This way, I'd still be able to offer mods and such for future testing and support.

No much, always floating around, seeing what is happening.

Like the direction you are traveling with these ea's. interested to see how "Alternate" preforms over the next few weeks.

Keep up the good work, and catch you in the house

A couple of things about the "Alternate", AKA "The Lost Sock".

It's started off a little rough this week because I had the wussy close enabled. I turned this off, a lot due to my bias of the week, and from then on out it has seemingly prevailed.

Really, the week before NFP, market action is typically like old people fucking...kinda sloppy and all over the place...so it stands to reason that having a methodology that follows this would prevail.

Watching the strat tester run as I was tuning and writing "The Lost Sock", I came to realize that having a Drag the Dead strategy in this one, may not be as beneficial...so removed the logic and now it is just a bi-directional trader with a bit of a different spin. Over the next few weeks, I expect Falling Knives to kick ass where the Alternate may not do as well...but the idea is to literally have Lost Socks kick in on days that Falling Knives would most likely be the underdog.

That being said...I have taken to a bit of a liking on some of the ideas in Lost Sock and think that they may play out to minimize the draws for Falling Knives, and will be making some changes on a personal trader to see how it actually plays out...in theory, it should keep a little better to trend, and should minimize the draws as well as make the Drag the Dead logic play out a little more favorably...but only time will be the true teller on this.
