That doesn't explain the discrepancy in the plotting line "style" as well!!!

I don't post too often lately but here's below the June activity on one of my accounts.

I mostly break even and some small losses here and there. Since I use a 1,5:1 and 2:1 R:R ratio, it's a game of numbers to be profitable. It's basic TDI + Heiken Ashi H4 work on majors and that is all to it.

I stopped trading on Monday and I won't trade until next month.

that is also very simple.

the trade manager EA uses different Line Style for:

- dot dot line style for closed trades.
- dot dash line style for cancelled limit orders.

visually this is useful for me to look at my trade history by differentiating the different order types - buy orders, sell orders, buy stop orders, sell stop orders, buy limit orders, sell limit orders,... and their respective open and close date and time.

note that MT4 has several Line Styles you can use in your mql4 programming.

It is important that you test both versions of the TDI with different settings and be very familiar with the way it reacts to the price action seen on the price chart. Pay attention to the High, Low and Close price of every price bar/candle (not the APB).

Whether you use the Close Price (0) or the Typical Price (5) on the RSI data in the TDI setting will make some difference.
Next week is month end closing and I have only a few trades to manage. This will give me some time next week and I will try find some good live examples to explain this better in realtime live market.

I do my trade plan weekly and look for trades manually. I do have a few handy tools to help me, one of them is the TMS Monitor which I use to get alert on certain chart conditions where I would then go to my charts and look for trade opportunities.

Whether a trade setup is high probability or not can be subjective to different traders. That depends on different criteria one would use to define the level of probability. The most important aspect of TMS is how one interprets Big E post 647. There is a quite a lot of different price action stuff to know and apply in TMS trading. But we can keep that simple by limiting the PA stuff to just a few Price Bar patterns or Japanese candlesticks patterns. your knowledge in trading and in MT4 is obviously not there yet.

Note that most traders trade with Single Entry / Single Exit. I don't because I prefer to trade with lower risk with position sizing and position building. After I initiated the first trade, I let my trade manager expert advisor do the most of the subsequent trade entries and exits, this way it is less stressful for me and I do not need to be watching my charts all the time. I only check my charts when I get alerts.

Hi Folks,

to those who are trading using trade manager, here is a good one which you can consider.

it uses horizontal lines on your chart to manage your trades.

but there is something for those who can code in mql4.

you can also draw vertical lines on your chart to start / stop your trades.

for example, when there is a TDI cross UP, draw a vertical line and name that TDI Cross UP Buy. code your TDI indicator to draw and name that vertical name accordingly. Your trade manager should the detect this line name an execute the buy trade.
in the opposite direction when the TDI Cross Down - you can Exit or Sell, depends on your trade plan.

Trading will then be very visual and much easier.

Look closely at those charts where the trade entry and exit line are drawn and how they a connected to the entry arrow and exit arrow.

Hi folks,

Like I already indicated last week, I was in a pretty nasty drawdown and I had a pretty bad week. Still some issues with risk management in my manager, but the only one to blame is me, for not cutting a loss. I was recovering pretty well actually, untill that nasty brexit materialized. What a big mistake, and hardly democratic.

All in all, over the past 2 to 3 months, for the first time ever, I have been able to achieve somewhat positive equity curves. Handed in my thesis on Friday so in the coming 2 months I hope to find time to do more testing / coding... As I will test more, I will not post these summaries. Hope to be back in September !

Hi,

you learned the importance ... cutting loss is part of this game. keep drawdown small and manageable for recovery.
any drawdown more than 10% is very difficult to recover.
cut loss, do the turn-around thing and recover the losses.
use a basket of several currency pairs and trade at the same time. When one pair goes wrong, cut loss 2% no big deal.
Out of 5 pairs, 3 will make it into big profits.
I have 16 pair in my watchlist, at any one time I have open trades in 5 pairs running concurrently.
