Anybody with 99.9 modelling quality backtesting?
Disliked{quote} remon , u better finish ur previous method first before applying new method..... better modify v9 which was near to success with some bugs, just solve the bug.... for your information, if u always apply new method and increase ur coding with 1000 lines for applying new method and adjust with previous, ur EA will never perfect and come to end. u better finish v9 with old 2 method and make new EA with method 3 regardsIgnored
Disliked{quote} Too many irons in the fire!!!! You need to focus on one Method at the time mateIgnored

Disliked{quote} I think that your best bet is to take a step back, scrap it all and release 1 EA per method. Let the thread followers test the method or methods that they choose. The true followers are here to help and support you. Lots of Love, DanielIgnored
DislikedHere is something slightly off the topic that I think a lot of you will find useful. "You can save your MT4 reports as excel spreadsheets!!!!!!" Simply change the extension of the file name to .xls when you are saving the file. Use the dropdown menu to "All Files (*.*)" THAT'S IT!! I am so excited about this...{image}

DislikedI can do 99.9% modeling quality backtest. This was an attempt at 10k-120k like remon was looking for, Searching for decent settings. Still waiting for source code then maybe I can find room for code optimization so the backtest is faster. This will take forever to find good settings which is why I think remon is having everyone send him settings files. Not sure that he will ever release the source.. Maybe I should start with the open source version posted in the beginning of this thread from another programmer. {image}Ignored

Disliked{quote} One should be very careful with "optimization" as most of the time it is a simple "curve fitting", which also got the scientific name of "TEXAS SHARPSHOOTER FALLACY" (You can Google it.) From Rationalwiki.org: "The fallacy's name comes from a parable in which a Texan fires his gun at the side of a barn, paints a bullseye around [randomly clustered] bullet holes, and claims to be a sharpshooter. Though the shots may have been totally random, he makes it appear as though...Ignored
Disliked{quote} I've been trading since 2004 and programming in mql4 since 2009. And I was talking about optimizing the code, so that it runs faster during backtests. Not optimizing the settings.Ignored
Disliked{quote} Sorry, misunderstood... 12 years of trading; hmmm... it seems that after all those years you still believe in the "unicorn" as most of us here... Even though we have never seen one...Ignored

Prove it! I dont think there are any good EAs that consistently make money... I think some systems work but the market eventually changes and everything goes to ..... blahIgnored
Disliked{quote} Nope, there isn't a unicorn. But I'd rather build a herd of ponies, which is what you need to do. I like this idea ONLY because it keeps the margin % lower than most grids, but that is all. If we can open up remons black box we can improve this beyond what one man can. However since the inception of this thread we only have a half built open source system from another programmer that was dumped awhile ago. In regards to your unicorn: {quote}Ignored
Disliked{quote} @gmax111 As you said in 2008 is still valid in 2016: "I dont think there are any good EAs that consistently make money... I think some systems work but the market eventually changes and everything goes to ..... blah" I have not seen any EA over the past years either to contradict your statement...Ignored
