I was wondering the same thing last night...but let me ask it a little differently...are any of you using any kind of calculated predictions on the pairs that you trade based on past behavior (i.e. S/R) such that you are looking ahead to an area that you are willing to participate (up or down) once the price gets into that area; and then setting some kind of an alert to let you know remotely that a pair is there or getting close? This would also help in staying away from the computer screen.

awesome trade on EU - was in on it too on the M30, had to go away from my PC so i put a trailing stop in and it got hit - got a few greenies tho.

Thanks Bill. I found that the complementary pair USDCHF moved quite vigorously.
Since I am able to monitor them from my iPhone MT4 app, I have decided to have a mental stop depending on how it is moving.
I want to see how far it goes and will exit when I see the classic TMS exit signs

I am in the same boat as you are.
So I trade 4 H. I often find that I have missed out of valid trade setups as I am out to work.
See when you are trading 4Hs, you do not get a lot of setups.
When I get up at night, I will often walk over to my desktop and scan through the charts.
When I get up in the morning I try to do the same and if I find a setup I like I will initiate a trade.
Then I leave for work and continue to follow up on my trusty iPhone. Think I will get the 6 Plus
I think the 4H is the sweet spot.

And that's my story.

Think out side the box.
There are 4 H1 APB in 1 H4 APB. Big E's rule was enter on the 1st or 2nd APB. So if all entry the rules are met for H1 and H4 could you enter a trade 2 hours into a 4H APB? Think about it and back test

Which pairs to trade is a difficult question to answer because it depends on so many things.

For example, is your broker...ECN? Dealing Desk?...what are the spreads on various pairs? what about commissions paid? etc etc

Just a quick post today as I have a few things to do. I'll try and talk about the Stop Loss issue tomorrow...I don't have time right now.

What I will say though is this.....if you're trading as a bit of fun...or just to make a few dollars here and there, than that's one thing, and it's completely fine to trade with that in mind, no problem at all with that. If you're trading as your chosen occupation though, or you want trading to be your full time occupation, then it's quite another.

Lets say that you trade, or are wanting to trade on a full time basis. Lets also imagine that you are going to (either) learn your craft in the trading rooms of a major bank, or that you have experience already and you now work as a trader for the major bank. If you think that you can go to work in your AC/DC T Shirt and dirty jeans and that you can turn up eating a hamburger at whatever time you like, you are going to get FIRED! No employer will put with that from their staff.

Now, is that how you trade at home? Be honest with yourself. Do you trade with your laptop on your knees while watching TV and eating a toasted sandwich? You couldn't do that in the trading rooms of a major bank!

The point is this. Be professional and show some pride in your work. Treat your job with the respect that it deserves, and treat yourself with the respect that YOU deserve.

Before I sit down to trade in my office at home I will have gone for a walk (no matter the weather) and had a shower. Got properly dressed ready to go to work and I will have eaten. From the moment I set foot inside my office I have 'gone to work' and as such I am unavailable to anyone else for any reason (except in emergency of course). My work day is for 9 hours per day and during that 9 hours I will have two 15 minute breaks for coffee and one 30 minute break for lunch. Of course my 'lunch' is at about 10pm (my time), but you get the point I'm making I'm sure.

If visitors call around......I have gone to work. If the phone rings.......I have gone to work. Unless there is an emergency, it is as if I'm not here....I have left the house and gone to the trading room at the bank....properly dressed and totally focussed on my job.

Dress well, dress professionally and behave like a professional and focus on your job. If you dress as a professional, you feel like a professional.....and if you feel like a professional, you do professional work!

Yes I too agree...
$h would be the less stress... time saving.... less difficulties..... cool GAME

TDI Crossing ANGLEs plays vital part...
NEWS.... might play major parts... .....
but its could be more likely NEWS will also NORMALLY come to EXPEDITE the TRIP in the SAME directions.....
Rather than to the opposite direction of the current trend directions.... even if so.... it could turn back to normal side after little/reasonable reverse....
I too was mostly play 1m, 5m and 15m charts but bit time consuming and different FUn compared to H4 GAME!

I guess by sticking with 4H I am being cautious and conservative. But I would like to stretch out a bit.
From what you suggest it does seem to be a valid option. But as you suggested, I will have to test drive it.

Your reason? look left i see S/R very close. Price making LL at the moment. I draw some lines on your chart. Price not ready yet to go long at the moment for me.
