Hey all! I finally made it out of the hospital! 19 days of solitary confinement (it's what it felt like) is not for me! :-) Thanks for all of your kindness, thoughts and prayers. I'll be catching up on the thread tonight and tomorrow before my trading session begins. Bear with me, it might take a few days to respond and get back in the swing of things, it's still uncomfortable moving around too much.

I'm of the belief that if the position moves 10-15points in your favor then there's absolutely no reason for that to turn into a negative trade. Minus comms at the most imo.

I've been trying to find a happy medium between giving my positions room and capital preservation by moving to b/e immediately. Right now I am really leaning toward sticking with moving to b/e immediately and possibly re-enter if expectation is the same and a rotation bar presents itself.

As I gain more confidence with Mr Pip's method and build my account I could see giving more room to the trade.

But really there are plenty of moves that happen that don't retest and the best moves will go in the direction of your position right away and reach the 1:1+ with little to no resistance. Mr Pip had a beauty of a YM trade on 4/6, these are what I'm currently trading for now so I figure if I get a bunch of b/e's then once I hit a runner it will be all that much better as I won't have too many large stop outs.

That's almost a full month, crazy! Is it normal to keep someone in there for that long for a lung collapse, or did they find more they wanted to keep an eye on?

I can't stand hospitals so I know if it were me in there I'd be going crazy by the 2nd or 3rd day. I'd be tying sheets together to throw out of my window to make an escape haha.

Regardless, glad you are feeling better and made it out of there!

First trade of the day. EURUSD 162 tick. I almost took the fakeout, but held my emotions. I was looking for a deep correction, and so I got out at a 2.7:1 reward:risk area, which just fizzled out right before the 61.8% fib.

My short term bias on AUD/USD is short. More detailed thoughts are on the chart. I haven't entered yet but may if a suitable opportunity (confirmation bar that still leaves room for a decent R/R) presents itself. Critiques welcome.

I am done for the day, it was exhausting. And while it looks good on paper, I was confused for the majority of the day.

The Swing marked with "X" is the one I based my expectations upon.

First trade was from a short from a correction that hit the 61% Fib perfectly and then moved nicely towards my expectation. I moved to BE+some when I entered the GBPUSD trade (this was the cleanest trade I took today and I feel good about it) and got taken out.

Price moved up and I was looking for shorts when it stalled near the old LH marked with "X", but I did not find an entry and it took off without me.

After price made a NSH, I was looking for longs.

1. This was a bit optimistic, but price moved up with strong momentum and I got good R/R. Might have been too impatient, but it has worked out in the past, so I am unsure whether I am losing money here or not.

2. Now this looked good to me: price was slowing dow beforehand (even though it was rejected by the bears) and found structure around the 50% Fib, which it hit perfectly and violently reversed (I entered before the candle close). I think this is okay, but am interested in opinions! I must admit, that I knew that there would be news (because I checked the calendar in the morning) and made a mental note, but I simply forgot about it (need to set a real alarm) - otherwise I would not have traded around this time.

3. I almost did not take this trade, because I was doubling my risk (had open GBPUSD trade) and I was already frustrated by my failed entries before and my confidence was shattered. It simply looks worst on paper: price is accelerating to the downside and the reversal candle is not closing above the prior candle. The R/R is bad, too. I just did not want to miss the turn-around after 2 failed entries (I would have been annoyed too much) and price cooperated.
But my point stands: do you guys just chalk this reversal, which is the most unrealistic according to our criteria, up to the news or do you see arguments for it that I overlooked?
I must say I am happy with how I managed the trade. It was very stressful due to the big candles and I was giving a lot back temporarily, but I trusted in price to move up again and trailed according to our rules and it worked very nicely.

Today's action on YM and ES was sort of confusing. The morning swings have been mostly ugly with some strong volatility coming in at times.

I took this ES short and had I waited for the 61.8 to enter as I usually do I would have had a better r:r. However I took the short based off the swing retest and 3 tests and rotation candle closing on its low.

Stop was right above the 78.6 at 2048.50. Thought I was going to get taken out haha.

Nice trade, jmezz. Shows the benefit of a wider stop. I would have been taken out and it would have been difficult to re-enter with that kind of price action.
