{quote} its been building for 2 months. when you see accum/distribution cycle that long, near the major lows, after a 3500 pip decline... means the bear market in EU is ending. i chuckled everytime i saw someone posting "parity is right around the corner" or the like parity isn't important technically. it's just psychological. 1.05 was always important even before we got there for the first time a year ago. now that it double bottomed, it's even stronger.

Going to be fun if BOJ starts messing around with this slide.

thing is...they could be part of the ones who instigated it...they would well know market anticipation after their announcement last week....

then....bam...fade the news into liquidity and then start selling yen at peak value after the surge.

{quote} i may again 4362 ish. no harm no foul if it dont drop first. i dont have a target there or much of a reason. other than i dont trade a b/o w/o a retrace first. most of the time. some have eu as a HH. i have it as a retrace w/o b/o... if i was dead set on a eu long. i would wait for 0788ish or less w/o a break of 0518 low.

yup most b/o have retraces, very few go straight through

but when they do go straight through, you know the conviction is high and follow through likely to be strong.

like EU. how many false breaks did it have in the past 6 weeks? but now finally making the move expected all along.

{quote} we got a whopping 35 pip retrace out of that technical setup.... Let's see what is cooking here at 1192, if that goes we will have a deeper retrace, finally. NY showing a slight turn around in equities, that could well bottom out the dollar here.

The trick of playing breakouts is moving to break even as soon as possible.
Fasle break out is not a problem because of break even.

The true breakouts are rare but real deals.

sure eu has a valid 1.2470 target.. but it was made on bs last year. the usdx has a 112 target. to get there, some consolidation on the weekly was expected. the normal 96.70 retrace was a minimal one expected. meanwhile rome burns around the china crash party. when the chains around european banks ankles, are noticed. it will make the blogs and "i told u so crowd", report like it's new news. you will see many post on sites showing their take in hindsight.

the bad part for me is weaving through the funders rise on redemptions. that can be swift and a account killer. those w/o a s/l may need to polish their smile in front the mirror. "would you like to supersize your order"
those who can, do. those who cant, talk about those who can

That's dizzying:

US: All right. Where is the Yen today? The battle of wits has begun. It ends when you decide and we both trade a direction, and find out who is right... and who is dead.
Japan: But it's so simple. All I have to do is divine from what I know of you: are you the sort of bank who would poison his own currency or his enemy's? Now, a clever bank would poison his own currency, because he would know that only a great fool would trade against his own currency. I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not trade against the Yen. But you must have known I was not a great fool, you would have counted on it, so I can clearly not trade with the Yen.
US: You've made your decision then?
Japan: Not remotely. Because the Yen is strongly correlated with the Australian dollar, as everyone knows, and Australia is entirely peopled with criminals, and criminals are used to having people not trust them, as you are not trusted by me, so I can clearly not trade with the Yen.
US: Truly, you have a dizzying intellect.
Japan: Wait till I get going! Now, where was I?
US: Australian dollar.
Japan: Yes, Australian dollar. And you must have suspected I would have known the Australian dollar's origin, so I can clearly not trade against the Yen.
US: You're just stalling now.
Japn: You'd like to think that, wouldn't you? You've beaten my industry, which means you're exceptionally strong, so you could've poisoned your own currency, trusting on your strength to save you, so I can clearly not trade against the Yen. But, you've also bested my interest rate, which means you must have studied, and in studying you must have learned that markets are mortal, so you would have poisoned the currency as far from yourself as possible, so I can clearly not trade in favor of the Yen.
