What's going on with USDCAD? I am completely lost. This relentless push, well into US session, despite oil not making new high, smells dodgy to me? is this the final push?

I heard $10. But not surprising since the sky is falling.

Breakout above the 1.4300 for the USDCAD. Oil sinks and it drags along with it the Looney. The pair came close to the 1.44. Another leg up and it may touch the 1.44 level. Lets see what keeps happening with oil.

Decent resistance just above 1.44, I think it is next.Why should higher UC mean higher oil? It is the opposite.

Level I watch now. 1.4404, then 1.4549, maybe 1.5091 as well, this pair is crazy now.

Majority retail short may have something to do with it as well.Squeeze time.

All these Black swan like movements roughly triggered by Dec holiday job gain....Jan 2016 may paint different picture with US rain floods, oil cuts etc.Next month we'll see Jan numbers....by then all the squeeze will be over with catastrophic effects on oil and related fields.

With the DOW tanking increasing the route to USD safety and the Saudis ramping up oil production (just to meet demand of course ) the divergence between this pairs respective currencies really should not be too surprising
It's a fundamental issue

The best of all would be a monstrous snow storm that drops the temperature of entire north America by 20-30 degree C, that will help burning through the fuel storage faster than what is priced in.
