I opened up a large short position now. Although in my book this is a big no no on Mondays... Will keep a short stop loss just in case but I reckon this is a good entry point. All of Asia finished in the red and oil prices are still dropping so the trend as I see is still down unless a miracle takes place on Wall Street today and we do a 360 degree reversal.
Interesting to see it played out today with part of asian markets closed,
i might see testing 10.000 level this morning or after newyork open, unclear 4 me for now.
i'll favor short retrace up to new york open 2 9850 or even 9750 area,
i'll wait and see if that works out 4 me.

How do you define the "opening range" for the DAX?

European time zone? Which instrument/broker?

I ask because although I happily admit that I'm going blind I can't see a high of 9839 or thereabouts on any of my H1 charts, and neither can my range breakout "robots". Hence I am somewhat intrigued!

European time zone. DAX March CFD with Activetrades. The high was 9835 and I added some points.

My take on it is that the liquidity and execution are unparalleled, and at fixed spread that's very good. Also, as to your charts, one doesn't necessarily get filled on the tick feed only. This is because, unless you trade very large, orders are filled against their book rather than immediately being offset in the market.

Interesting week ahead, I'm sure. As expected, the post-NFP move was to be faded, but next steps more unclear. The world's markets are in unchartered territory in so many ways, so volatility is bound to remain high And a usual day here - up at 6am, qigong, breakfast, and then the screens...

Thanks for the extra info, but I'm still intrigued. I fired up an ageing ActivTrades MT4 SB account on which I see a high bid of 9821 for that bar on an H1 chart of Ger30Sb316?
hi all hope u all have a nice week, there was a quick upside move at the opening but under 10000 i will keep on shorting dax, i am short from 9936 and tp is 9650 area hope it goes, sl at be.

that is what I am seeing but for conservative entries I take the 5min candle of 9am into consideration as well. Which give you something around 9830-9835

GM old friend Yes, qigong is part of the daily routine, and not just in the morning. The difference in well-being it makes for is astounding. almost magical. Let me know if you have questions.

And now time to start looking for longs again...
Keeping an eye on EURUSD in its bullish mode at the moment.

Considering a long trade at 9815, which is roughly intra-day 50% Fib + 200sma on 2M. If we get there that is.

Working with their MT4 feed which up to now seems fairly accurate, however I do realize there is some discrepancy which for seem fair with their quite competitive fixed spreads on Dax. For now still ok with it.
